Bindings (+k opportunity)

I was skiing a week or 2 ago and clipped out and the brakes one one of my skis basically blew up. I brought them into the ski shop to get them fixed and the guy told me that my bindings themselves were cracked. I think he also said that the bindings i had were attached at 6 points rather than the usual 4. So now i gotta get new bindings by the weekend. I got 2 questions:

1. Do I need a certain type of binding cuz of the way my old ones were attached or am i good for any binding? The broken ones say solomon 10 on them if that helps.

2 What kind of bindings should I get for my line afterbangs. I'm an expert skier i.e. i can ski just about any marked trail in the east coast and i do rails every now and then.

I know this should be in gear talk but i need answers by thursday. Oh and +K for helpful replys

well you could get probably any binding and just mount it 1cm back unless the mounting patterns conflict.

as for which, we need your height/weight.

These are just as important for picking out a binding as skiing ability.

i would look at some look jib bindings they are heavier but very durable and i am about your weight and height and thats what i have. and as for remounting them you might have to mount 1 or 2 cm back unless the drilling holes for your current bindings dont conflict with the new ones, but afterbangs you are going to want to have as close to center as possible.

That is fine, i was just saying that if you weigh enough and are doing things other than skiing groomers the Z series bindings will always snap along the screwhole that the break screw goes into, based off of my personal experience.

im guessing they were salomon z10s so if u didnt mind notgetting new bindings why not get another heal pieace for em? theyre not that expensive contact salomon support by email or phone

no one can be an expert skier if they are on a-bangs. they are the worst ski for actuall skiing.

what bindings do you have now?

if they aren't bad you'd best get the same and remount in the same holes with "quiverkiller" inserts or helicoils or something....

that is unless they've ripped out the mounting holes ....

otherwise look for something else within your budget (what is your budget?)
make sure the holes are at least 1cm away from the old ones ...

ive seen an edge hack one of the main painted gold support beams on the heel piece (the metal things on jesters) almost in half

Well if you had z10's just get a sth 12 OS and the binding will go into the old holes plus one new hole fir the heel piece. Personally I would get the sth 12 Driver as it is better, and you would only need to fill one of the original holes and get 3 extra holes drilled. Also allthough you may think your an expert I would not recomend you say 3+ when they ask your ability when setting the din. Probably go 2 maybe 3 and see how you do from there.
