Replying to Iridum lenses

Right now I have ordinary, too small goggles and I was thinking about buying wisdoms with the iridum lenses. Last year I had asked them for Christmas but my I didn't get them cause the dealer said that they were bad for night skiing because having iridium lenses made everything appear darker. I do a lot of night skiing (well, evening).

Alot of my friends have them though, and they haven't complained about them. Was I fucked by the clerk? Is it even noticeable, or are they like any other goggles?
