Yeah, but they cost $80.

I use throwaways from ski swaps, you can get nifty with different colored electrical or duct tape, and/or spraypaint. Plus, if you break them, just go get another free set and custom paintjob of whatevers trendy, you'll always be hip like the cool kids.

The sickest pair you can find on the ski rack. i never keep the same poles, if you see a sick pair on the rack grab em! (dick move i know but d'fuck, they're ski poles)

free ones, i just keep the small baskets when i break mine and just chop down old beaters and tape them up with a shoe lace strap, works great and your only cost is a $5 role of hockey tape

i dont see wat all the love is for line poles ive gone through 3 pairs this year but luckely rei is dumb and ive returned them every time but ive been using adjustable snowshoeing ones for the last couple months and theyve been real sturdy a couple times ive fallen and been like shit i broke em but they hold up everytime

If you think poles don't matter, you probably don't know how to pole plant properly (or at all) when you're making turns. Grips, straps and length are all pretty crucial if you know what you're doing. Oh yeah SCOTT Poles, with the leather straps, are by far the best and most durable.

k2 composite poles, they flex, never had pair bend or break, never had sore wrists after a days skiing, (used to happen lots), the only reason im on my 2nd pair is that the strap broke, the basket fell off and the grip cracked, but i found another pair that has a wayyy better grip so im stoked

My 5 speeds sucked ass. the metal cap on the tip fell off, now the carbon fiber's getting worn down. I'd go with cheap ass aluminum poles. Right now I have one rossi and one joystick, and the basket fell off my joystick in the woods :(
