Hello all. I am doing a school project about Line Skis' image. If you could list the following it would be great.

1. Your experience with Line Skis (how do they ride, how do you like them, etc.)

2. Why you chose to buy line skis.

3. What your perception of Line Skis' image is.

never owned a pair but yesterdday i bought a pair of afterbangs. i have always wanted a soft ski and i got a sweet deal $144.50. stoked to ride them. need some binders now

1. I had invaders back when they still made them. i loved how they rode, butter all over the place, very fun to ski on in the park and just made a park day more fun because of the jibbyness of the ski.

2. I chose to buy them because they were $200 and looked pretty cool. the bases also looked really dope.

4. whenever i see a line ski i basically think "that kid loves to jib". part of this is because i watch a ton of traveling circus and love those guys.

1)  I own 10/11 Line stepups.  They are my favorite park specific ski I rode.  Solid yet surprisingly nimble on rails (urban and park).  There have been no delam problems with my stepups as I have heard about with afterbangs.  Good stiffness, but able to be flexed out enough for butters. Overall great ski, as well as a good value when comparing price to quality.

2)  I decided to buy lines because I have heard nothing about great things about them from my friends, who have owned anthems, octolands, chronics, and invaders.  I was attracted to the focus line puts on creating a good jib ski.  Whether the ski is awesome or fails, at least they are pushing ski technology in a new direction.  Another major factor going into my decision of buying line skis is the fact that the majority of free ski media I view is produced by line.  I truly do believe they are a great part of the ski industry and had no problem supporting the business by purchasing their skis

3)  Line skis has always had, in my eyes, a playful image of a no-nonsense product.  Line is definitely unique in their graphic display, seeking out different artists to create each ski's graphic (i believe i read this somewhere). It definitely seems that supporting the skier, both with their product, sponsoring athletes and film companies, and the media they produce, definitely comes before any monetary game.  I, as a consumer, appreciate that they are truly passionate about their business, which, sadly, is hard to say of many businesses many industries.

1) I have owned the following Line skis:
-2005 1260's
-2007 invaders
-2008 chronics
-2009 lizzies
-just bought 2010 cryptonites, haven't used them yet

I loved every single pair I have owned / own. They ski amazingly well, are super durable, and are fun skis. The graphics are amazing. The edges and bases are unbeatable in the industry in my opinion. Every pair is so different, none of the pairs have been the same, which is why I love getting a new pair. The 1260's were my first twin, really good for learning, super light weight. The invaders are one of the best skis ever made, everyone should own a pair at least once in their life. So soft yet they still hold up on big landings. Chronics just stomp and crush anything in their path. So stiff and responsive and poppy. The lizzies are one of a kind, probably the most fun pair of skis ever created. Softest ski you could buy and they really change the way you ski down the hill.

2) I love Line so much. I always wanted a pair of Lines back before I started skiing park. Back in the day (circa 03 and 04) there were very few park skiers, and they were either on Lines, Salomons, or K2's. Line was just that sick company that was just so different from everything. My good experience with the 1260's kept me on board, then when the invader came out I just had to have it because it was the only symmetrical ski at the time. The chronics were a continuation on from my good experience, and I went through a stiff ski phase. The lizzies were originally for trees, but I have skied them everywhere, I will never get rid of them. The Cryptonites are replacing my chronics, as they have kinda lost some edge and are pretty beat. Excited to try them out!

3) Line has always been that core company. People say they sold out, but look at what they are doing. They are putting tons of money into their skis and they actually listen to the customer. They are truly the revolutionary brand. Face it, Line is cool. You know it is. It just has that oldschool cool characteristic that will never go away.

Best skis ever made. Terrible in crud / spring slushy bumps because they are so soft, but they are amazing in everything else.

got a free pair of 10/11 Afterbangs at Mike Hornbeck's Camp at Summit and i snapped then 3 weeks later, sent them in and am probably getting next years, but whenever i see someone riding them, i think they're a serious rail guy, loves rails

I owned the last pair of Invaders. My skis prior to that could not be salvaged from the heel piece ripping out, so I called it quits and picked up Invaders in early March off of EVO for $150. It had kind of undermined my plan for buying Afterbangs the next season, but I needed skis so I picked up some cheap, trustworthy sticks. I enjoyed the flex, the symmetrical shape, and the graphics/base was great. It actually ended up working out for the best since they are a far superior ski to the Afterbang in so many ways (weight, quality, durability). They took quite a beating, but they held up and two of my friends had to use them this season when their skis broke. Overall, the Invaders are an awesome backup ski. I would say I was satisfied with Line.

I do think of Line as lower end skis though. Less quality, less cool technology, less of what I really want. I picked up Halos and JJs this year and am definitely more satisfied with Armada. I see Line as a great company for the industry, but they're just not an ideal brand for me anymore.

1) I have anthems and invaders, love em to pieces.  they are mad smooth, super playful, my only gripe is that my anthems are super duper heavy

2) Cause they offered a true twin tip for a very affordable price, and i heard they would be soft.  The true twin thing was big to me back then for some reason, wouldnt ride skis that were not perfectly symmetrical

3) They seem legit.  Kind of like trying to be a smaller company, even though they are probibally one of the top 5 ski manufactering companies...maybe top 10 haha, i dunno

Sick i have this years Sir Francis Bacons and Ep Pros.
-Best powder skis, lightish and really playful and lively
-Topsheet gets fucked super fast

2. Why you chose to buy line skis.
-Soft flex good price sick everything

i have owned invaders, EP pros, and stepups.
1. I have loved every pair of lines i have owned, i have only skied the stepups one day but it is a super fun ski, the eps are one of my favorite skis ever, soft but you can charge on them if you really want to, i loved my invaders to death but i got to heavy for them and started breaking them
2. They are cheap, and i got the eps because they are the perfect pow ski for Mt, Hood, where i live
3. they seem to be an all around good skis, some pairs are good for jumps some for jibs, and some for pow, it seems like their riders create the image of jib skis

1. I have owned invaders and elizabeths. Both awesome skis, lizzies are by far my favorite skis I have ever owned, soft and playful, very versatile.

2. Chose them because I liked what I saw in the ski, I don't really buy skis based on the companies image.

3. Innovative, they seem to always be a step ahead and I love the fact that they support people who do their own thing. They give skiers the opportunity to make a living strictly off riding rails, which is sick, that's something snowboarding does that skiing doesnt really seem to understand yet. That is except for line.

ski them everywhere.
bought them because i like soft skis plus eric pollard is the man.
line dosnt make skis for gapers. simple

1.own 1 pair of invaders and love them. They are so soft and buttery. Very durable. I am missing about an inch of edge which hasnt gotten any worse since it came out. A few other edge cracks.

2.I bought them because they were cheap (150 used with bindings). And I just bought a pair of anthems off of a friend just because of how well my invaders hold up.

3. THey make soft durable jib skis.

1) I have Step Up's in 184, center mounted, really like them, pretty much bomb proof. BUT, my right ski got rockered some how.......

2) Cheap, thats about it

3) Cheap skis that are worth more, reputable name in the park skiing industry

i have not owned line skis yet, but my preception of line is that they are very close to there consumers, they post in multiple threads and are extremely accesible, and have great coustemer service.

1. good, the sidewall cheaps way too easily,
love the stiffness, theyre even getting butter worthy, they ride like beasts

2. they were park skis in my local shop for cheap, first year and all, didnt have to choose much

1. Have owned 4 a pairs of Line skis (02/03 1260's, 04/05 Motherships, 07/08 Prophet 90's and 08/09 Line Blends). The 1260's were my first pair of twin tips I've owned, back when I was 11, was just amazing, loved them. I actually saw the person who I sold them too awhile ago, he was still skiing them, they were incredibly small and just starting to fall apart. Loved the Motherships, was a good transition ski to get me more into the big mountain scene. The 90s were good, much more of an all mountain ski that anyone can use, but lasted and blasted through everything. Finally, the Blends were so fun, although they died on me by the end of the season, I loved them, perfect all mountain ski.

2. Why did I choose Line?
Line was my first twin, it got me to where I am today in skiing, every new ski I've had of theirs has been better and better. I continued to buy Line so I can support the company that makes these amazing skis. It's not the best response, I know. People buy and choose ski companies for the quality of their products, along with the service and image for what they stand for. I have shied away from Line however, I felt they didn't make long enough big mountain/powder skis (besides the Mothership,(had no interest)).

3. Line's image to me is a fun loving company that has been looking to change the way skiing is. They've introduced so many skis onto the market and has brought skiing and the skis being made to where it is today. I see Line as a mellow, fun loving jibbing company. They go out, make skis that people just thrash and beat over and over again in the park and still work. Then they make smooth, floaty skis that bring a mellower side into the powder skiing aspect of skiing.

I've owned:
07/08 Elizabeths (2 pairs)
07/08 EP Pros
09/10 EP Pros
10/11 EP Pros
I've also ridden a bunch of other Line Skis. As you might of guessed, I like soft skis and the above fit the bill. Lizzies are probably the greatest ski ever made in my opinion. They carve much better than they should be able to and I've had no problems on jumps. But they still butter like crazy when you want them to. Perfect ski.
EPs are fun and floaty. The 10/11s are stiffer and with a bit of camber they do much better all over the mountain. You do trade a little butteriness though.
Overall, I love both skis but if I had to ride one ski forever, It'd probably be the Lizzies. The only time they let me down is over say 1.5 ft of fresh, then they are too short.

2. Why you chose to buy line skis.
After my first pair of Lizzies I was hooked. Great skis and I get a great deal on them so I doubt I'd look elsewhere. I do think they have made major mistakes with their ski line though. Invader/Anthem --> Afterbang/Stepup was a downgrade in my opinion. Dropping the Lizzie has made me sad. The change from EP Pro --> Opus confuses me too. Well it doesn't the Opus will sell far more, but it isn't be the same fun ski
3. What your perception of Line Skis' image is.
In my opinion they make great skis and sponsor a great team. Lately I think they have moved in the wrong direction as mentioned. The Elizabeth, the EP Pro, the Invader/Anthem and others will be sorely missed, at least by me.

Have had a fun time on all the skis. Anthems and Lizzies are by far my favorites.

2. I bought most of my Lines because i got them cheap. But i bought the lizzies and anthems for the soft fun flex.

3. I feel that line has more of a jibby image too it. Most of their skis make me want to tap, butter and slide all things in site.

1. i ride 2009/2010 line masterminds , i love them. buttery, durable, light, awesome.

2.i chose them because i heard they are flexy. i like flexy skis. and they were at the ski shop i was at

3. they have a pretty good reputation in the ski world.

i got invaders cause they were cheap and i dont feel bad beating on them

theyre pretty shitty skis

i view line as a really low quality over hyped company.

1. im on the 2010/11 masterminds. i love them cause i can take them anywhere on the mtn and they ride perfectly. they can stand up to any of the shit we get on east coast

2. my friend told me about them so i did some research and i just realized how much of a chill company they were and all about skiing

3. Line is an all around dope company. eventhough k2 bought them, they will still be just like they were before, the shit

1. I have owned several line models from abangs to epps they tend to be on the softers side and seem to be getting soft with each passing year. Definately more of jib feel to most of their models. In sum fun skis.

2. Honestly it has more to do with price and availability, but since they teamed up with k2 and moved production outside North America i am less inclined to buy them. I actually worked in a warehouse that distributed them...I used to get access to seconds and warranty (cosmetic) skis for real cheap, but that job doesn' t exist anymore in my area....

3. Line was an innovative small buisness that took chances and came up with mostly good (remember the bindings, great idea but...eyuck) products for core riders. Now they are huge and scary corperate monsters....nah not really....however they are basically an extension of k2 and it is a little disappointing. Line may have sold their soul a little... I am always a fan of the independant North American manufacturers, they are the guys that provide good skilled jobs locally.... I would look a product from On3p, Moment, Liberty, Icelandic first

I had over 60 days this year on the mountain. Probably 45 of those days were in the park on step ups. I had a couple edge cracks after a month but they stayed strong and just a couple days ago the edge came out in two spots underfoot. You must be harsh as fuck on your skis.

1.) i have owned ep spirals, elizebeths, and ep pros.

the spirals are a stiff park ski. the lizzeys are my all time favorite ski because they can ski everything and you can have alot of fun on them ( i actually think they are making a mistake by discountining the lizzy). and the ep pro is al around bad ass. buttering through pow and just floatin like a cloud. i have never owned a different pair of pow skis before so i dont have anything to compare it to.

2.) there cheaper than most other brands.

3.) here to fuck shit up
