Torn meniscus to end the season off, Filmin a little park edit with UA yesterday. Still expect a full segment in afterdark, and back on skis in the summer. just gonna miss some spring skiing while i get strong as hell over the next couple months. not going to let it happen again

ive torn both of mine havnt gotten either fixed.  its not really necessary to do anything about it cause once the swelling goes down your usually ok.  But then sometime u could be fucked and need to get it clipped out

You must of only had a slight tear then cuz ive torn mine in both knees and it wasnt fun, ya i could walk but still a lot of pain and its more mental than anything. you can tweak it really bad and make it way worse. Im sure he'll get it scoped and be killin it this summer.

my right one tore clean so it got putshed away the other was slightly torn and is still there and hurts time to time.   Its really all mental pain

Yeah so not great advice generalizing meniscus damage care on the internet. Some people can live with it just fine and some people need to get it fixed, obviously ortho doctors would give the best advice. Either way here's to a banger segment next year and quick recovery.

my right one i went without fixing for a while, but then it blew out and I had to get it taken out. My left on flipped outside of the kneecap and was one of the grossest/painful things ever

I tore mine a bit when I tore my ACL, they just roughed it up during surgery and all the blood in there healed it up. Meniscus can either be really bad or not so bad. Getting it removed is possibly one of the worst things you can ever have done to "fix" it though. Ahmet will be back being steezy as hell in no time!

This is what happened to me, they said I could either get the part I tore off sewed back on or get it removed....it sucks.  Vibes to Ahmet, hope it's not too serious, and it seems like he's going into it with a good attitude.  He'll be back within 2-3 months for sure

ehhh thats debatable.. the only real bad negative thing that you get from taking it out is bad arthritis when you are older, and by that time we will have artificial menisci

Yeah it's the cushion in your knee. I have a buddy that has been skiing one time, and on the first run he tore it and had it fold on top of its self. They can repair themselves though so after a solid 2 months he was ready to do something else to get hurt, haha

i dont think he is getting the "quick scope" you guys are generalizing.  although that is the more common route, he would be back much quicker than that.  I assume that insead of the minesectomy, he is probibally getting it tacked down, which means you have to be non weight bearing for an extended period of time.  It is more common to repair it if you are young and you are able to be ehaled relatively quick.  If you get it cut out, the return to functional activity is relatively quick...but then again, i dont know the background or anything.

My guess is that even if it isn't very bad, he will give it a lot of attention and make sure that he's 110% before he comes back. Since he's done with his major filming and the main season is close to over, he might as well. Plus he skis at such a high level that it would be easy to further injure it if he continued to use it, potentially putting him out for a long time.

i've torn mine playin football when the ground was like concrete it's not that bad i got put on cruthes for 2 weeks and i had to rest, i could not walk or anyting, for the first two weeks before i went to the doctor i just toughed it out but i then realized my knee was as big as a melon i went to the doctor and after all the time off of it it was fine those 2 weeks sucked it up though

I question what your trying to say?... anyway, I Didnt exactly finish my segment, i have plenty of footage for one but definitely want some more things in there that i didnt get to squeeze in at the end of the year. Looks like Gonna go to Chile in the summer to try and do that. Just got an MRI yesterday, pretty sure its meniscus, If so skiing in the summer shouldnt be a problem. Make sure to work your leg muscles a lot. mine was getting weak so it tore.. good lesson
