Where to mount my silly Caylors?

Hello all, i've decided to finally mount my 181 cm Caylors. i was wondering where i should get them mounted i know the On3p's site recommendation is -2.75 but since i'm not in or skiing a high vicinity of powder i'd like to mount perhaps forwards more to -2 or? i don't think it would affect shit but perhaps someone could enlighten me to the truth. I would most likely be doing %80 back country (has fuck all powder, won't be doing drops bigger than 40ft) %10 on piste and 10% park.

Any answers would be lovely (even if troll)

ON3P has their shit pretty dialed, and like you said, 0.75cms isnt going to effect shit...just mount them at recommended, which will give you better float going foward in pow, which I assume is what you will be doing most of the time in the bc.

from what ive heard, rowen and scott spend a long time testing different mounting points and finding what works best for the ski. plus if you mount foreward, you are in front of the middle of the sidecut, losing hard pack preformance. \

i would go with recommended

I have mine at rec and they are so fucking fun. Mount them at rec its only 3cm.

mounting forward of recommended is only gonna do somewhat good for spinning (park riding)
since you're only gonna do 10%park, i'd say fuck it, mount at recommended

another thing: if you're gonna mount outside of the sidecut center, your ski's gonna perform awkwardly while carving ....

i assume the recommended spot is also the sidecut center (or at least close to it), thereby mounting there will also give the ski the best carving abillities around the mountain...

you're gonna be thankful for having your bindings a bit back when you get a dump, while you might not even notice the difference while spinning....

Furthest forward someones mounted those is dead center, most of our team rides on them there. Furthest back I've heard of was -5 from dead center (on 191's), and that guy actually moved his up and liked them better around -3.

From all the testing I've done, you can go +/- 3cm in any direction off the recommended mark and not notice too much of a difference, but it does get rather weird beyond that as you start to have the sidecut interact strangely... anyone who dead centered skis from 7 or 8 years ago should know what this feels like.

191s mounted at rec are the sex man. I wouldnt go any farther forward since they spin just fine back there. Also you spend way more time riding forward than fakie, so why inhibit forward performance?

i can only give mounting advice on regular caylors. since yours are silly, my input will do no good.

Thank you all for the advice, i guess i'll mount them at recommended. Now all i can hope for is the ski shop doesn't fuck up the mounting with there jig.
