im new to this site and there are games and shit where the new kids get labled as 'newbs'. sometimes the 'newbs' get so much shit for being new to the site. i havent seen much of that at this site which is cool...but i just thought that was super gay, and that people have to realize that we were all 'newbs' at one time.

^Shut up. I'm a newb. Everyone is a newb, except for the people that make a difference on the site, i.e. harvey, lateralis, cj, mattman, etc. you are nothing to anybody until you say something so cool that no one will forget it and it will be talked about for the next month.
That's how i've come to understand it.

I've been on the site for a while, and I've just sort of learned to tune out all the bullshit (that takes a lot of work these days), including the whole 'newb' business. It's not how long you've been around, but what you contribute to the site. I've got a lot more respect for someone with 100 thoughtful posts than an ass monkey with 4000. Imagine if someone walked up to Turpin and said, 'What, you've only been skiing five years? Get off the hill, newb.'

Yeah, I sorta agree that the noob thing is bullshit (and that's not just because I have 180 posts and am member #30000something... hahaha).

All over the internet are 'forums' like this one, inhabited by true losers who live in their mom's basement, eat cheetos for dinner, and masturbate constantly to furry porn. People like this also inhabit many internet forums, and since they have nothing else, they cling to their post count and member number like a kind of status symbol.

I thought this site was more mature than that. It's a skiing site, so most people here are probably active people who have lives outside the internet. So why do we still worry about who has more posts?

I come to this site for the discussion and not to be an elitist retard with member #50 and 20000 posts who makes fun of new people just because they're new. If they have something worthwhile to say, that's enough for me.
