Being open minded does not mean you are constantly open to the ideas of others, no matter the frequency with which they are spouted. Being open minded means you're willing to listen to them and understand what they're saying. It is up to you then to reject these beliefs based on their logical and moral substance.
If someone tells me they're conservative, I reject them because I've read and understood what it means to be a Conservative, and I find them, on the social end, to be morally bankrupt, logical unsound,and hate-filled.
I have been called closed-minded many times by people that do not understand what it means to be open-minded.
