Alright well i'm looking into buying my first prime lens and the 35mm seems like a pretty good one. I'd say i'm a decent photography.. nothing close to professional though. any other recommendations? not looking for something too expensive.
the f/1.8? or f/1.4?
The f/1.8 was my first lens and i love it. I now have 4 lenses (the 35mm, tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, pentax 50mm f/1.7, and vivitar 200m f/2.8) and i use my 35mm the majority of the time. For its price its the best option for someone who is taking photography but still learning.
Lenses in the same price range are either prime lenses or cheap zoom lenses. I would rather have quality than versatility on my camera, just my two cents
Yes, the f/1.8. Is it good for shooting skiing? It's not my only lens (15-55mm f/3.5 and 70-300mm f/5.6 VR) and I havn't spent much time with my camera on the hill. I'm not thinking about primarily shooting for skiing but it would nice to know.
Love the pictures, just out of curiosity what camera did you use to shoot these photos? Especially the skateboarding one because i'm curious of what the fps was of each shot.
As for the thread the 35mm looks awesome and i'd definitely love to have one. Anything as fast as 1.8 or 1.4 should be sweet.
Thanks!
I am using the nikon d90. I believe it shoots at 4.5 fps, i don't have a need for more than that. I really want to get into the fine art aspect of photography.
To OP: if you want it for primarily skiing it depends on what you want to do. I don't see a lot of skiing photographers using 35mm lenses. If you are feeling experimental go for it! If you don't use the industry standard you are bound to get a different unique shot, that risk could be potentially great. If you are feeling adventurous i would go for it!
If this is your first prime then be prepared for a different style of photography. I think its a lot more fun than having a zoom lens because you get involved with what your subject. You gain a better understanding of the camera and lens as a whole
+k for the help.
and to the post above, I did notice your sale in bst but it would practically cost the same for me to buy one brand new then to ship yours.
