I found a great inexpensive way to have a external LCD monitor




please tell me if you think this would work.

this was on cheesy cam a while ago. I have a 4.3" one sitting in my lap right now. Honestly, it's decent for framing but not sharp enough to pull focus, the lilliput has it beat in terms of resolution for focusing. But I guess it is good for the price haha

Looks a bit small for anything, but a great price.

Does anyone have any experience with Lilliput monitors vs. the much more expensive (and assuming higher quality) alternatives like Marshall and Manhattan? I'm thinking of picking up a monitor to expand the screen size for framing and focus pulling better, but am not sure if the higher price-tags are really that worth it.

what camera do you shoot with? from what I have read for canon dslr's (excluding the 7d) smallhd is the way to go because of the way it scales the signal from your camera that changes when you start recording.

That monitor is almost worthless, since its only 30 bucks it kind of makes up for it.

the reason i would like this is because i was thinking of making a handle for filming skating so i cant really see the lcd screen with the handle in the way.. so i think it would work if is off to the side or above it... agree?

its also twice the price of a lilliput.

I think a little monitor like this could be good (if it works), if you put it on an articulating arm and then attached a magnetic mounting frame and putting an LCDVF on it. It would be similar to an electronic viewfinder, but $200 max instead of $700+

I am doing this. I have all the parts and stuff but just need to wait till I'm home from the mountains and have all my tools, but it cost me less than $50 total
