NS Help me pick a sub and amp!

I know some of you guys know your stuff, any help is much appreciated. I'm just asking for your opinion on a good starter amp and sub.

For the sub I was thinking a 15" P3 Rockford Fosgate?

btw I'm not the richest guy on NS and this is going in tiny ass Suzuki.

you don't need a 15"

I have a 12" JL in my Impreza wagon. The sub is designed to handle 300 watts and I have my 150-watt amp hooked up to it and turned up not even halfway, and depending on the song, it is usually faded towards the speakers not the sub. This all still gives me very full, nice-sounding bass, enough to like give my mom a headache.

What I'm saying is, I have a very low-powered 12", and I only have it running at like less than 1/4 of the power it could be, and I have a bigger car (assuming yours is an sx4), so there is absolutely no reason for you to get a 15"

12" will be fine, theres almost no difference in the quality

larger the sub, the more unaccurate and sloppy it hits.
if you want smooth hits get a 10. it will bump just as hard as a 12 if you get the right one.
I bought a pioneer 10 inch 1400 watt from none other than walmart, built the box myself and bought an amp off craigslist. all added up to about 120 bucks. i suggest you check out whats on craigslist.

I'm getting everything replaced in my car, i just bought dual 12" kickers with a vented enclosure, the shop matched the amp amp, 6" and 6 3/4" speakers (2 each), and an alpine deck...

yes. for sound clearity. running a 10 inch sub at 1200 watts in the trunk of a tiny mk4 jetta is PLENTY of sound. And just cause its from walmart doesnt mean it is shit. Pioneer is really good quality if you ask me.
lol if you think any more bass is necessary. have fun being sterile cause your bass is so loud it breaks the trunk latch on your civic.

my thoughts exactly. try and find something at least 750 watts or higher. and you want an amp that can come close to matching whatever the wattage is of the sub.

before you decide how much power you want, please listen to comparable systems. i have seen too many kids go out and drop tons of money on 1000+ watt subs, then they spend $$$ on a powerful amp to match it, and it is way too much so they end up driving around with it turned way down anyway

get kicker or fosgate. my bro has a 12inch l5 in a ported box running a 500 watt amp and the thing hits very hard, but if you get an amp that has a bass adjuster nob u can turn it down when u want it down. Personally its all about prefrence because some people hate loud music and think a sub distorts the bass and song but a lot of time it is mistake that make the sub sound dumb, personally i happen to like my music loud and if you take the time to match your sub with the right amp and size of car the sub wont sound retarded. when getting a sub its better to put more money into it because cheap shit like a lot of the stuff people are talking about on here just wont last an you will end up either blowing the speaker or having a dumb sounding sub. also a lot of mistakes people make r over powering or under powering your sub thats why u have to find the right amp, because if you over power it u will melt the sub, and under powering it u could blow it because it is not getting the power it needs to hit the notes. so id say go with a kicker or fosgate. good luck.

YA size is not every thing I know JL audio has really good stuff you might check them out they have alot of different options.

My advice, Don't get some ridiculous system to "slap super hard" trust me you'll get tired of it fast. It's not worth the money and space it takes up in your car. If you must get a sub, get a 10. Much faster, cleaner, and accurate response than 12's/15's, and you can actually listen shit that doesn't knock, especially if you still have stock speakers.

i have two 12 inch pioneer subs with a 300 watt amp, wired all the shit myself and it cost me UNDER 200 bucks including the box and wireing kit. if your looking for cheap get two cheap 12s, used if your putting them in the trunk, if its in the actual car (under seats or hatchback) get two tens or one 12. with a 200-300 watt amp. and you will be bumpin

dude fuck kicker and pioneer. definitely pick up rockford or jl. i run a 12" jl w3 and push it with an 800watt amp thats plenty for it. for such a small car i would definitely recommend a ten or a twelve inch jl w3 or up, something that pushes 700 or up
