Hey guys, I'm Adam and I ski in the EAST COAST (The real stuff!). I am
an ADVANCED / INTERMEDIATE skier that skis PARK AND GROOMERS (more like
messing around) and im looking for a new pair of skis that is FUN TO
MESS AROUND ON, DURABLE, and VERY LIGHT. I like hitting RAILS AND JUMPS
(no bigger than 20 ft) AND I LIKE MESSING AROUND. I am going to be 17
5'10, 145 pounds and my BUDGET IS no
more than $700 without bindings.
Thanks guys! Appreciate it.
yeah ive seen the afterbangs, they are sick but will they hold up to the jumps? and can they handle groomers fair?
Also im not sure about the punx... have you rode them are they fun? and how are the t-halls?
I still think it would be a good idea to find some demos to help give you an idea of what you like. If you can ride a few skis, it can help a lot in pointing you in the right direction. Especially if you don't know if you like stiff, soft, rockered, butter zoned, etc.

honestly i ride afterbangs and there way too much fun.. poppy and playful and i beat the shit out of mine after 2 seasons still holding up
there getting softer now and sometimes i wish i had a stiffer ski out of the park but even that said.. there lots of fun on groomers just super playful
t-halls definitely sound like what you want . i loved them, they are light and fun to jib around on and handle cruising the mountain as they're stiffer underfoot. I had no problems with them and as far as i'm aware Armada make good durable skis....
hahahahahahaha no, he clearly has NO budget, a bangs are ment to be an affordable ski, he should get somthing good if he has the money to spend. oh yea, and there mad heavy, like noodles, and have durabality issues.
get somthin other then the a bangs! i'd recommend the scott jib
I would look at the armada ar7. The Thall is good I have a pair, but they really are no use out of the park. They are so soft that when you try to push them hard they just flex way too much to be actually able to hold an edge. The Ar7 in commparison is stiffer and holds an edge on hardpack much better. Thalls are great in the park but not really for anything alse. Other skis to consider are the Salomon suspect if you tend to stick to jumps and boxes and not many rails. Dynastar skis tend to ski pretty well on the hard pack too. I would avoid the afterbangs I have seen so many fall aprt, and they weigh so much.
disregard this post. never ever buy these skis they will not hold up. the ar7 is stiffer i love mine, from demoing the thall i found that much more playfull, to be honest it was a park demo and i was buttering around all the time so the above post might be right about the ar7 if you want to ski on hardpack.
Read my post agian, I said if he rides jumps and boxes NOT RAILS then the suspect will be great. Its one of the popiest and lightest skis on the market, it just dosnt hold up great on rails, allthough from what im seeing, this years are much better. Do not dismiss the suspect straight away, its a great ski, just not for every type of riding.
i had mine when i first started riding park. alls i could do was slide boxes at the time. my edge ripped out in about a month. i now have el reys that i have been using for 3 years of park and are amazing. armada makes the most durable park skis i have ever used.
Well if your looking for a really playfull park ski, then the thall will be good, its just not great out of the park. The AR7 will be a little less playfull but much better on the hard pack and off piste. The reno jibs will be somewhere between the Thalls and AR7. The afterbangs are ok if you need a cheap ski, but if you have $700 to spend do not get them you will wish you got something better.
Overall if you really like to ride the park and your not to bothered about carving performance or powder skiing get the Thall.
Personally, I hated the THalls. I had the Scarface ones. The butter zones and odd flex made them handle like crap. They turn and ride very sluggishly. I would rather have the AR7 because the more traditional flex pattern actually allows them so ski well. But I know some people still do like the THall, so once again personal preference reigns supreme.
