Question about an engine...

1. make sure there is gas in the tank

add gasoline

well obviously make sure there is gas, next I would check oil and all that before changing sparkplugs. I've even had a few sparkplugs come lose so make sure they are seated well. Then change them, check the air filter and maybe replace that.... if still nothing, I would be checking to make sure there are no severed lines or anything, then finally check for blockage in the lines or in the fuel tank.... then you have to start looking at the expensive shit, and you may have a serious problem. good luck

Drain the float bowl of the carb. Unless it's fuel injected. Then, clean the filters. Take it in if you're still stuck.

this plus air. check each of these before spending money. just ask if you don't know how to check.

check for spark, check all gaskets to make sure none are cracked or anything, your cylinder may be frozen. What i have done on an old go kart motor was poured a little motor oil down the spark plug hole when the plu is out and let it sit for a few days, then attempt to pour it out. This has helped me in the past, put can get a little tricky. Also make sure the flywheel runs freely and is not rusted, check pto or clutch in your case and make sure the chain is not resisting the drive shaft from moving. Once all of this is done, spray a little ether in the airfilter hole or pout a rag soaked in gas over the airfilter hole and it should fire up, or cover the hole whith your hand and when you hear it start to catch, pull it away quickly

once you get it to turn over and if it still doesnt start, check the timing of the engine with the cam. Is the engine a horizontal or Vertical? What make?
