Metal VS Plastic

Whats better for sliding on, plastic or metal? Cause a lot of media I see of summer rails and things the people are sliding on PVC pipes. PVC?! NO WAY PVC! Yeah. Doesn't it get all chunked up from your edges then makes you go BOOM on the ground cause its all chunked up from your edges? EH EH EH EHDGES?! Yeah so why do most people use PVC for their summer rails?

its light weight cheap and they prob dont hav eaccest to metal rails or welders

pvc is like 4 dollars for a 12 foot section. Steel is like 40 dollars for a 12 foot section. PVC works fine. Sometimes if you hit the rail REALLY bad it'll shave a little piece off but nothing that will make it unslideable.

I cant slide metal rails but I my neighbor a few years ago at my resort have a pvc rail set up and I could do anything on it 50/50 even but as soon as I hop on a metal rail I slide out and break myself
