DONT do original or loaded, they are way too expensive for just a decent board. i ride a Kracked skull board and one i made myself, , but also check out eleven, 313, gravity, bamboo skates, arcane, and wicked. there are tons of comapnies out there that all do a good job, but they are also at lot less expensive than original or loaded.

go check out silverfish longboarding. its basically the NS of longboarding and you'll find what you need there.

Get a board that you can grow into and one that will fit your needs in a coulpe of years, this way you wont have to spend money on a cheap beginner board and then move up to a nicer one, go for a relatively nice one from the start. I reccomend BC longboards, Kuya Longboards (new company), Loaded, Landyachtz, and Longboard Larry. Look into the BC eel or moray, the Loaded Tan Tien, Kuya Mini Villian, and the Landyachtz 9two5, switch, or spud. Or do some resaerch, build a press, and start making boards, thiss way you can fully customize your boards and sell them.

no. dont do original trucks. the decks are awesome for beginners, the trucks are not for everyone though. so much care and time go into those trucks for very little gain.im personally a big fan of their decks however. i have inherited two of them and love the boards. if your into bombing, look elsewhere, if slides and cruising are your cup of tea you will love original.

how long have you had your decks? i had an apex 34 and i loved it for the first 2 months, than it got all saggy and wouldnt spring up nearly as well as when i first got it. They need to incorporate a bamboo layer somewhere in the layering, or maybe a thin maple stringer

i have had my apex 37 middleweight for almost a year and a half now and the torpedo 40 for a year. the apex is getting saggy on my, but the torpedo is going strong. i just re-did the cams on the apex today for like the 5th time and am just getting so fed up with all the care i put into the damn things. i get parts and stuff for free, so im not terribly pissed, but you cant buy time. the new carbon is incredible however. i rode the first one out of the factory last summer (claim?) and just rode it again last week and it felt exactly the same. carbon fiber is the future.

didnt they release a new spring-less truck with regular bushings too? and i heard that the new apex has a metal edge on it, is that to prevent sidewall cracks and delamination? and carbon fiber is amazing, but the prices will raise when they begin ecoporating more and more, i think companies should begin to look into kevlar instead, its cheaper and stronger i think with similar qualites of carbon

i really like the way you think. and the new carbon is compatible with standard bushing trucks, but original is still in the experimental stages with their new truck. it is supposed to be a hybrid sort of truck with the cams and traditional bushings so you can choose what you want to ride. havent seen it yet, but it sounds different. the new apex does not (i assume you are talking about the carbon) have a metal edge to prevent delam. there have been stories of the carbon delamming, but that was a factory fault due to a transition between manufacturers (108 to be exact).
