How to downgrade iPhone OS

So I have a iPhone4, I did the upgrade to 4.3.1 and it sucks. I have had many issues with it. Is there a way to downgrade to 4.2.1? I have always had 4.3 since I have bought the phone.

i'm pretty sure there is. I'm kind of out of the loop on iphone jail- breaking as I sold my 3g a couple months ago but i'll try and help you out.

Download the OS file you want to downgrade to from the dev team blog or whatever other source. Open up itunes, after you click on your device right click to do a custom restore and aim it to the file of your desired OS. After the process is complete you will get an error message which in consequence will leave your device in DFU mode, this is normal. Download tiny umbrella and use it to get your device out of DFU mode. This is all from memory so you might want to do some more research before messing with your device.

I know exactly what to do! Seriously!

Ok, what you do, is you download RedSn0w. Once you got that, go on google, and look up, "iPhone 4.2.1 firmware." You can download that from somewhere. Once you have that, open RedSn0w, and do what it tells you. when you get to the step that tells you to select a software, select the 4.2.1 firmware. It'll do it all for you from there. DO WHAT IT SAYS EXACTLY. If you do, you'll be in good shape.

It'll ask you if you want Cidia on your iPhone or not, and a bunch of other options. Select or unselect the ones you want and you're good to go!

Ya, that's to JB it. I am looking to downgrade the OS first. Their is not a JB for 4.3.1 yet, that is not untethered.
