Yeah Dave killin it as usual!

And just an f.y.i. Dave and the rest of the Revel8 crew don't give a flying fuck if you think their sport is dead. They are throwing down hard and probably having more fun than you. Personally I have ridden on Revel8 skiboards on many occasions, and they are for sure a lot of fun. I still choose to ski full time just because i prefer the style and feel of it, but riding with the Revel8 guys is a great time. They all have great attitudes about riding and are all around fun guys. If anybody sees them shredding around Carinthia, Big Boulder, RmR, Mt Creek, Winter Park, Breck, or Keystone, give them a holler. They are probably more than willing to give you a little demo if you're willing to try something new. Chances are you might have a good time doing it.

sorry to break it to you (and them), but it's not whether or not "we" THINK the sport is dead. It's a factual statement, it's dead. there's no competitions, no pros, no real industry... there's nothing there.

Last time I saw or heard of a skiboard competition was 2001, maybe 2002.

This is definitely true in the US and Canada. When compared to skiing and snowboarding over here, skiboarding is tiny spec in the snowsports industry.

In Japan, Russia, and some parts of Europe, though, there is actually a more significant industry that is currently growing. There have been Skiboarding comps with competitors from across the world in Dubai, Latvia, and Romania in the past few years. There are a handful of rather successful core companies (Revel8, Allz) that sponsor a good amount of talented and dedicated riders. While I have to admit they are not at the level of top pros in skiing and snowboarding, and definitely do not get paid a salary, guys like Dave Lynam, and Borja Fernandez are putting down some impressive shit on skiboards. Also, with a lot of recent exposure in Be-Mag, the biggest freestyle rolling publication out there, the sport has the potential to grow more in the future.

No, I am not trying to say that skiboarding is or will ever come close to being as popular or as big of an industry as skiing or snowboarding. But, I wouldn't go as far as to say that it is completely dead either.

To tell you the truth, I have not seen anybody ride one out. I am sure Mr. Lynam or somebody will have them in the very near future though.

Who cares? What does that have to do with what he said? P.s. your posts are mostly worthless, read more, type less. Don't get me wrong...that edit was haggard and hucked like 95% of skiboard edits I've seen, but off axis dubs aren't the official stamp of legitimacy. And to the guy ranting about skiboarders having more fun than skiers, and putting them on a soul shredding pedastal...gimme a break, man. I don't understand the whole pushing the snowblade agenda mission, but every year there's a dumbass thread where a skiboarder posts what he thinks is the edit that will finally garner mainstream acceptance, and it never does. Frankly it's pathetic, and I don't know why the skiboard community is so invested in getting respect from skiers. Just go out and have fun and don't give a shit whether other people think it's cool.

I like to take laps with anyone riding on 2 sticks. Our community in general need to become more approachable and expand who they interact with on the mountain. Other skiers/skiboarders/park tele riders...anyone. Riding with different people helps you learn new tricks, new lines, and can tweak your style in ways you couldn't imagine. Plus the STOKE level of riding with new people can be insane and push you to progress very quickly along with having more fun on the mountain. I know i love helping to teach a new trick to a fellow shredder....and always look for advice before I drop in to try something new.

Next time your shredding and you see someone on skiboards or a new ski you want to try throwing down in the park...start a conversation, trade off for a run or two, get to know each other, what do you have to lose? You could find a shred buddy/a future ride/a future job hookup or just someone to tell you where the nearest taco bell is.

that was naaaasty, dude has so many tricks in the bag. i cant imagine landing on those things off those big jumps at the end. i do have to admit though, i naturally assumed he was a good skier who was trying blades for the day. but he just straight killed it, props

yea i agree, but as said the "tall tee steeze" was for t9 and the blade edit i think was aimed specifically at bladers. but i saw in a live xgames interview where he took questions from online, someone asked why didnt he ski and he said "yea... well skiing's just gay." and thats pretty much all he had to say about it. that aside, he is a talented and hilarious snoborder

Solid tricks. Unlike skis, where you can land backseat and still ride away, skiboards need to be stomped. All this hate must be a bunch of east coasters because out here at Breck and Keystone nobody cares what you ride. No matter what you kill it on, snowboards, skis, skiboards/skiblades, or skibikes, everyone gives props where they are due. There's nothing lame about what he's doing on skiboards. Maybe you're just struck with some envy.
