MHSSC, or mount hood summer ski camps

half the price of windells or COC or momentum, but you still get 6 days on snow and the chillest camp environment ever

I've wanted to come to momentum but high prices are part of the reason holding me back. Also I've heard that it's good to be at least 18 which i'm not since you kind of roam the city alone. No matter what though i'll be hitting up momentum as I get older.

Go to Momentum it's amazing; this will be my fifth summer there. Its great for progression as they have jumps of all sizes including many a step up to safely learn on. They have a plethora of rails and you receive a new coach each day so that you get each coaches strong suits.Accommodations are in a nice hotel with hot tub and pool as well as many loft rooms. All your meals are included so you have no concerns and there's also a grocery store 70 ft across form the hotel. You get all the liberty you want, as well. Whistler Village is amazing with tons of stores from ski shops to candy stores and everything in between. In terms of activities there's water ramping which will help you progress a ton, mountain biking, Frisbee golf, camp soccer games, trampolining on an Olympic trampoline with a certified trampoline instructor, skating in Whistler's skate park, hiking, going to the many lakes around Whistler, rock climbing, camp basketball games, and and tons more. Oh, and all the activities are free.

MHSSC (Mt. Hood Summer Ski Camp) for sure. You get 6 days on the snow, and it has pretty much the same park as Windells, minus the huge ass stepover and a few rails. Windells has more media hype, but costs almost twice as much. Windells also has a huge offhill campus with skateparks, dryslopes, and all the top pros. I've never been to windells, but i have friends that have and have told me that at windells, you dont really learn all that much from the coaches. A lot of them are mainly there to train themselves and so they dont focus as much on coaching the campers. MHSSC on the other hand focuses more on coaching and learning new tricks, plus they have a trampoline there too to learn tricks on. Both camps provide all your meals, but at windells if you want something to dring or eat other than water you have to pay for it at their overpriced snack bar, wheras mhssc has a 24 hour free soda machine. So really, if you want to go to a camp and just ski and not really learn, it would be windells. but if you want to go to a more affordable camp that you learn alot from, i would recommend MHSSC.http://www.mthood.com/freeski.htm is the MHSSC website

They have a really nice facility and it's where the arealists for the olympics train. But that doesn't mean that you can't throw down the sickest tricks there.

Hey Crispy,
Just a heads up our average age for campers is 16, and a lot of kids start rocking up to our camp at 9 years old.
Don't get me wrong, 18 and over is a awesome time to come as well, you'll definitely be picking up mad ladies at that age with all the crazy #*%& you'll be learning! Which bring us to the "Lone Ranger" comment. Your welcome to cruze around the village solo, but most of the time your doing activities with the pros, momentum crew, and all the other campers.

Not at all.

And let me make this clear to anyone looking at going to MHSSC: if you expect animosity between racers and freeski kids, you are mistaken. The vast majority of all people there have the maturity to not give a shit about how other people decide to enjoy the snow. The presence of racers means only one thing: more girls.

Momentum is so fun! great coaching, I learned so much. Its a little more expensive, but u get what u pay for. worth the overtime and extra hrs u put in at work to make it happen.

Other then talking mad shit I'll just point out a few points on what Windells offers.

Windells has three airbags, the negative feed back regarding the airbags are more then likely coming from individuals that have never hit one or is out of touch. And if you have hit one then it surely wasn't a bag Jump airbag.

Windells has a park that extends over a mile long, No other camp has this in North America during the summer months. imagine the number of rails and jumps you can fit into a mile long run.

Windells has three lifts that access Windells parks. Little to no lift lines.

Windells is host to many of the best skiers in the World.

Windells has dry slopes on campus where you can session rails and jumps all afternoon.

Windells offers BMX, roller skating, scooters and wiggle sticks.

Windells coaches do video review every afternoon and despite what some of you say you do learn at Windells. This is obviouse if you watch events like the X-games, Dew Tour, Rev Tours, Open events and videos like Poor Boyz and Level One.

Having fun and learning works.

Windells is a freestyle camp.

Windells  has Olympic Tramps along with two other more traditional tramps.

Windells has foam pits.

Pro skiers from around the world live, hang, film and ski at Windells.

Teams of the best skiers in the world visit Windells year round.

You can sit down and eat three meals a day with the best skiers in the World.

Their is no comparison between the two camps other then in one camp you half to hike where as the other you do not. i would think that is something every potential camper should understand. Hiking in 70 to 80 degree weather in ski boots is really not that fun. How-ever it is summer time and their is snow which is awesome.

I went to camp of champions and had the best time over there. The vibe is amazing on and off the hill. plus they have the best park ever. the lines do get a little long when the momentum kids go to lunch though.

I hate how all the ns kids are like "MHSSC BROOO!  SHITS THE CHEAPEST AND THE BEST MAAANN" when about 95% have never been there and are just trending off of other dumb members.  I'm going to Windells this summer, and potentially Woodward at Copper.  I went to Ohio Dreams last summer for open sessions, so I am really only justified to talk about Ohio Dreams.  I just get pissed when all the kids on here are like MHSSC ALL THE WAY when none of them have been there.  I believe its incredible, but I feel you should only talk if you can talk from expirence

I went to Momentum last summer and had the most fun summer of my life,the hotel we stay in is directly in the middle of Whistler village, it's an all skiers camp, Momentums lane had it's own t-bar which is awesome because you can do so many laps an hour, the coaches last year where super sick, TJ, Justin Dorey,Chug Colby,Corey Vanular,B Paul, Tim Russel, and so many other pros came too. Also Momentum is in Whistler and it''s probably the sickest place to be in the summer and theres so much to do there.

I cant tell you about other camps, as the only one ive been to is windells. Ive been going there for 6 years and i plan to hopefully be a councilor next year... and i can assure you its THE best experience ever. Its like a whole different life you get to live for a week. Very fun, good coaching, well worth the money. Im not saying windells is THE best out of all those camps, im sure they all relate just the same, but it was my favorite

I went to woodward at copper the day after the grand opening and had the time of my life. i learned dub front, dub back, cork 7, underflips, and met "the creator" (he doesnt remember me)

You might want to take a close look at The Camp of Champions. The longest time on snow every day. So much stuff to do afterwards and the biggest park with so many pros it's crazy. Camp prices start at $695 for a week. The Compound has so much to to in addition to all the usual fun stuff that Whistler has to offer.

If you live on the east coast then liberty is a really good option. I'm 4 hours away and its 340 for their july 24-28th camp.  If you're trying to save some dough and see what skiing in the south is like then its definitely worth it.
