Does anyone know if the U of Maine is near any mountains or resorts? Anyone go there or have any opinions on the school?

haha my brother chose vermont for college because of skiing. he is a big boy rhcp. but in main im sure there are some mountains, i just dont know any specific ones. sorry

It's a decent school. Good engineering department, good campus. Incredible hockey team to so those games are fun to go to. Pretty good school all around.

UMO has the really good engineering department, but it's not near any mountains, university of maine at farmington is like, 45 minutes from sugarloaf and then university of southern maine is kinda close to sundayriver

is UOM near the coast I forgot where Framington is but I guess since it's only 45 min away from sugarloaf it probably isn't near the coast

go to farmington, it's like 5 minutes away from sunday river, umo is a ways till sugarloaf and sr and shawnee, but it depends on how u wanna ski, it's like an hour which isn't bad if u go like once a week or maybe twice.

all the kids who get rejected from thier choice colleges from my school usually end up going to UMO, over like, 30 in this years graduating class went there....sad

I think it's like that with a lot of state universities...except for the UVA's, UNCs, Cal's, etc
