First flip?

So i was really practicing my rail game the hole year right untill like last month were i have started doing a bit of kickers like 3' and 5' so i want to try a flip cause the season ends soone and I want to at least try. So basicaly my question is what is the easiest flip and also how to do it.

How poppy is the jump? If it has a good amount of pop, you should go for back. If it doesn't, go fast and huck a front.

i landed my first front flip yesterday on a tiny jump.

i also had a back brace so it didn't really hurt landing on my back.

but if anything you should try a front flip

I did fronts first. It was on a 5-7 foot tabletop and the key is to commit. Really know that it wont hurt more than falling on a 3. (unless its on your neck of course.) Good luck!

I'd definitely say to go with backflips first, especially if you've done them on a trampoline before. The first one you just gotta grow some balls and just huck it. I over rotated my first one but I got back up and was able to dial down the rotation. The first couple times you land it, its just gonna be just a huck that you commit to, but eventually you'll learn to bring your legs under you when you spot your landing. I can front flip too and would not recommend it because I believe that its actually a lot scarier. Think about it...the jump is angled upward, so it would be natural to flip back. Flipping forward would require you to resist the contour of the jump and a lot of the time would make you flip slower. The only thing that gets my front flips around is committing because as soon as I take off, I have no idea if I'm gonna land it until I get the rotation all the way around. When I backflip, I feel much more in control. As for lincolns, I don't have experience with them in skiing, but I've gone them on a tramp and their pretty easy but you might get freaked out because everything looks trippy while your flipping. Try a backflip first.

-You can spot your landing earlier

-You're not going against the jump

The only good thing about a frontflip is if you don't land it, it will probably hurt a little bit less. But since you're going to fully commit to your flip, that doesn't really matter.

Please fully commit to your flip I'll feel bad if you hurt yourself.

Go fast, huck fronts. I did a frontflip off a jump earlier this year that was mayby 2 feet. They arent that hard if you stagger your feet and huck it. Theres a 4frnt tech talk on how to do punch fronts. Check that out.
