Alright I will post pics as soon as my camera starts working, but I have these veiny formation on my bases. they are fairly small and they stem right where the point of where several edge cracks are. Thought it was just dirt so I rewaxed my skis and they were still there while the rest of the ski is clean, I have never seen this on any of my skis and not too greatly worried about it. wanna help me figure out what it is though?
veiny and bases, two words I have never heard together in ski discussion. Except in: Man, in that O3NP ugliest topsheet contest, did you see the skis with the huge veiny wang on them?? Lolz
I am waiting on some HQ pics to assist further. Sounds like the base may be cracked/bubbled?
thats what i thought, but its not bulging, and no evidence of cracking, its almost like dirt got in there somehow from the edge crack lol. i have faith they will hold, they are Nordicas and their construction is usually pretty solid
I think it might be, i ran the metal scraper over it slowly and i felt it kinda click as it went over so i think it is. is this bad, or is it something that is easy to deal with
Hard to tell from those pics. It could be a little scratch that some oxidization filled in. The white bases love to show discoloration that can sometimes be cause from springtime snow conditions. Esp if you ski in an area that makes a lot of their snow.
Id take them into your shop and see what they say. Get a stonegrind on them and see if they look any bettter. Toss some storage wax on them if you are done riding for the yr.
