look, this is my opinion but the Hellbent's are not really what you should be looking for. They are FAT and I don't mean too fat that you cant ski them, but they really are designed for deep power days, waist high stuff. I skied them in Japan about a month ago and although I liked them in the real deep stuff, I found that they were just too much ski when ever there wasn't deep snow, and that there are much better versatile options, especially if your only skiing 'once in a while, max 30cm deep' snow.
I would suggest looking into a Mid Fat, something around the 100 mark that will be ample enough to allow you to ski your foot of pow and still ski the park and all mountain fine. Either the Volkl Bridge, Line Blend, Rossi s5, Rossi s3 or ON3P J-mo are a few that come to mind (for reference I have skied the blend and the s5 in 30 - 50 cm fresh and it handled them fine, I actually replaced the HellBents with the Bridges as they ripped pretty much all over.
Also I haven't had any personal experience with surface but I have heard that there durabillity is questionable, although I may be wrong.
