Moment vs. 4frnt

im lookin at some 4frnt ehp's and id like to know the pro's and cons to em....
also whats better those or moment night trains?
and what are the pro' s and cons w/the night trains

my sis rocks night trains all the time she takes em every where. she swears by them they are wide underfoot so they float like a motherfucker, yet the flat camber makes them still ski-able on hardpack. and moment has a pretty good rep for durability and warrenty. 4frnt is a little iffy. definitely go for the night trains...im thinkin about gettin a pair myself

The EHP is much beefier, and has a much more versatile tip design. They have really no tip profile to speak of, it looks like someone cut the very end of a rockered ski off, like they have no tip, but rocker. The tip shape is tapered, and those two things combine to make the most awesome, variable snow cutting badass-ness ever conceptualized.

The Night-Train is a softer ski, and I think wider, and it also has a square normal tip shape as well as rocker, so via the soft flex, the tip will deflect in chop, tracked pow, everything but untouched pow pretty much.

They are both pretty sweet though, The night trains are more pow jib oriented, and the EHP is definitely built more on the big mountain domination side.

I recommend that you consider the MOMENT Bibby Pro as well. I went with the Bibbys over the night trains because I wanted a ski with a little more versatility. The Bibbys have camber underfoot, but a healthy amount of rocker in the tip and tail. Believe me, at 118 underfoot, they still float and pivot like a dream. I like a stiffer ski as well for charging, the Bibby's do high speeds really well considering how awesome they are in pow. Check out this review on them.... I've skied them personally, not just my friend or sister

Yeah, the Bibby and the EHP are pretty similar. Here is a random list of cool and differing features.

EHP:
early taper and early rise, with a "no-profile" tip that will NEVER get knocked around.
Bigger turn radius, but smears like a dream.
2011 and on have easy skin attachment at the tail (plastic nub to file a notch).

Bibby:
slight early taper and early rise with square tips.
early edge cut off (helps with delam at the tilp and tail).
more capable of switch skiing than EHP, but both are far outdone by some other skis.

Other than that, they are both great skis. They are of similar flexes and waist dimensions, but the bibby is definitely fatter at the tip and tail.

The early taper on the Bibbys is plenty to prevent any kind of tip deflection.
I don't know why people get so hooked up, haha, on MOMENTS square tips. They have no effect on the ride of the ski whatsoever. I love the tip-profile of the Bibbys, they look mean.. just my 2c

Its not the taper that causes deflection, its the profile... and honestly I don't recall saying Bibby's got it bad, I just said EHPs didn't get it. Lets see here...

Thats not a Bibby profile man, even the tittle of your pic says garboens (spelled wrong it is garbones and also that is changed, its a really old pic), here is next years rocker/camber profile (same as this years) Click for larger image

Bibby's are really versatile, ehp has no camber and longer radius.. EHP is more big mountain while the Bibby can handle a lot more..

So, the tip profile is almost the exact same, that was the only thing I was trying to point out. And there is definitely camber on the EHP. I am looking at mine right now.

Oh sry man, I'm a big fan of tips like the EHP, more companies should add those, like Nordica.. Works so much better than some big turned tips like an S7 has.. But really the bibby's tips work great!

Yeah, if the nordica Radicts didn't look like shit, I would have bought a pair...

But there are quite a few people doing it next year.

I may put it up in the review section sometime soon, but right now I'm trying to draw some attention to the website as well; BLISTER Gear Review. The last thing I want to do is have people think I'm spamming NS for the site, but the we're brand new, trying to gain as much attention as possible, and I know people can benefit from the content we're putting up, as you have from the Bibby review
