i know this be a ski site but was wondering if any of my fellow skier know what the best kind of wood for a downhill longbord would be, ive just started getting in to shaping and pressing my own??
1/8th inch Baltic birch with 1 or 2 plys of maple in between. For a dh board your probably gonna want it pretty stiff, so I would do 2 layers of BB, 1 layer of maple, then another 2 or 3 layers of BB. Or instead of 3 layers of BB on one side, throw another sheet of maple in the middle.
