When you were a wee lad, what did you want to do when you grew up?

I wanted to go into space. space still confuses me. i just wanted to see what was out there. now nasa is being gay. now i just want to maintain a job and be able to ski most days.

i wanted to be a cardiologist, but i didnt have the heart. i wanted to be a doctor, but i didnt have the patience. i wanted to be a baker, but i couldnt raise the dough. i really did want to be a 2nd baseman though, or a police officer.

i've pretty much known I was going to be an accountant since I was a freshman in high school. i always dominated accounting with very little effort, so I kind of just rolled with it. it's by no means my "dream job", and I'm not exactly jumping for joy every morning when my alarm goes off, but it pays the bills.

Ride racehorses. I still kind of do, but I'm too tall and not willing enough to break bones to be a jockey. I'd definitely look into exercise riding if I still lived near a track, though.

When I was around 6, I wanted to be an animator and work for disney.. (pixar didn't exist yet)
Wanted to do this till 7th grade where I wanted to be 1 of 2 things. An anthropologist/archaeologist or a professional snowboarder. No joke... I was kinda into snowboarding for a while cause I was sick of slalom.

Then I went to college... have a BS in anthropology. Now I just write about skiing and make websites. This will probably take up the greater portion of my life and that makes me happy. I really enjoy skiing, writing and programming.

I'll probably go back to anthropology when I'm 45 or so.

see i could never imagine an accountant on NS, just not the place i would see someone go to after a hard day at work of punching in numbers. but i guess you have changed the perception of NS. may be a FEW smart newschoolers her, but not many. and my dream was to be a computer engineer, or have anything to do with computers, but that was when i was very young, now i just want to do something that will get me some money, which is nothing at the moment, yay for not having a job and going to school.... not....... fucking sucks ass but what ever, once i start senior year, i will have an internship and then after that college and hopefully be getting a decent job :D

and now i just want to make a good living, live in a largish house, drive nice cars, and ski on the weekends.


probably my dream though would be to create some sort of tech / internet startup with my brother once we are both doneski with college and have some initial capital. (pending we come up with some fabulous idea) basically i like the idea of working to make myself rich, and not some other guy.

When I was in elementary school I was pretty set on getting a full ride to play basketball for syracuse. And I was pretty certain I'd be in the NBA too. If only that were possible. I'm going to be a teacher now though, and I'm really happy.
