Slopestyle, Degree Superpipe, and Big Air
TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival presents the Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP) World Championship featuring the invitational Slopestyle, the invitational Big Air and the open Degree Superpipe.

Competitors in the Olympic-sized Degree Superpipe will aim high and throw-down in the most impressive display of on-mountain athleticism. Combining passion, prowess, positivity and pure attitude, the Degree Superpipe lays it on the line for committed and confident skiers to take home a huge prize purse and priceless bragging rights.

This is the first Slopestyle competition in a decade, and it's going to be huge. This is an invitational competition, so get ready to see the best of the best dual it out on features like never before!

Big Air is back! Larger than life, this massive step over jump stands strong and proud, ready to take down any skier who dares to challenge it. Watch fearless pros take it on for the cash and the kudos.

Just because an athlete is confirmed doesn't mean they're gonna go, tanner is always a "confirmed" athlete for xgames slope and pipe and he hasn't gone for years.

Sorry for the double post, put looking at the JOI website there are still 4 riders that should make up their minds and chose where they go.. or at least tell both events where they are going..

WSI has mostly been a qualifier with a few invited athletes, There still is an open qualifier with 40 spots for the HALFPIPE qualifiers so there will still be a bunch of non-pros and such, actually I'm pretty sure like everyone that registered may have gotten in. I will be competing super pipe.

I don't get why they don't make like a deal with Jon so he moves his event back or forward a week and they give him an invite to every event and a VIP pass to everywhere or somethin like that. Wsi over joi IMO, joss + joi over wsi. Wsi has a big air halfpipe and slopestyle witch is sick...

Previous years athletes have flown straight from Are, to Vancouver then drove up to Whis. Last year that didnt really happen cause of the Iceland Volcano fucking up all the airlines. The only "pro" athlete that made it to Whis last year from Are was Colby West. Probs wont happen this yeaar cause WSI ski ends the 24 as well as JOI

WSI will probably be the same tricks that have happened at all the events. Jon is building a sick jump(I hope) and hopefully new shit will go down.

yea but why don't they make some sort of agreement so everyone can go to both?

It wouldbe sick if jon moved his event back or forward 1 week so everyone could go, and they gave him like an invite to all events and a vip pass or some shit?

"After a lot of video quals and last minute invites, the JOI list is now final! Considering that WSI host the AFP World Champinship at the same time in Whistler it feels almost unreal to see this startlist in Åre at the same dates! O mary O'Neal you are a saint lol. I am really psyched about what Ole Mustad will bring to the table, he is flying under the radar of a lot of people but he is definitely one to watch for in big air comps
