Pennsylvania police recovered over 50 bags of heroin, prescription pills, cash, and loose change during a cavity search.
27-year-old Karin Mackaliunas of the 1600 block of Mulberry Street crashed her car at an off-ramp in Scranton last Sunday. While investigating the accident, Scranton police were asked to detain the woman as a suspect in a burglary of the nearby Dunmore Inn.
During a routine search, authorities found three bags of heroin in Mackaliunas's jacket. After being brought to the station, the woman told them that she had more drugs hidden in her vagina.
In the course of an examination, a doctor at Community Medical Center found 54 bags of heroin, 31 empty bags used to package the drug, 8.5 prescription pills and $51.22.
Mackaliunas was charged with possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia and possession with intent to deliver.
The woman waived a preliminary hearing today. She is being held on $10,000 bail.
