Replying to Machine Washing Full Tilt Booter Liners?

Despite the "microorganism killing" treatment that is supposed to prevent smells, my full tilts are getting very stanky. I've used frebreeze many times and basically soaked my liners in it to no avail. Wondering if anyone has machine washed their liners before? I would wash them with cold water and just hang dry them. I don't think that water and soap would make any part of them deteriorate? They are getting smelly and I'm getting desperate. Thanks for the help.
