What can i do, and what cant i do to a leased car

Depends on the terms of your lease. There may be penalties for returning the car with out certain OEM equipment. I'd definitely call the dealership on this one because it may vary from case to case.

Just make sure you keep all your oem stuff that you can put back on when it's done

Tint is fine, aftermarket tail lights are prolly fine, just make sure you keep the OEMs, other than that, most other stuff is a no go. No exhaust, intake, ECUs, suspension, ect. Check your terms verrrrrry carefully. If you bring it in for service and they see any mods, they can and usually will void any warranty and tack on huuuuuge penalties. You dont wanna end up paying 2xs as much.

Best best is to check your lease, and go and talk to the dealer you got it from.

Actually you can do anything you want. Just be sure to keep the stock parts laying around, because you'll need to put all of it back on to avoid fees

Please tell me you went for the 2.0T Sonata. My uncle just got it and for how little extra it costs it makes a huge difference. Sport suspension too. Plus who doesn't love to listen to a turbo wind up?

off topic but once you're in the car market again, look at the crossfire srt-6. Literally a Mercedes-Benz SLK32 AMG with Chrysler badges. Even the engine says AMG on it. Supercharged to 330hp. That along with how light it is makes it fast as FUCK. they were 45k new, but they only made 2,000 of them between 05 and 06 so they're at or below 15k now :)

leases have their perks. if you drive 70 miles a day back and forth from work, then no, probably not a good idea. but if youre a college kid or someone with a small budget that wants an affordable, reliable car, theyre great if you get something that fits. would i lease a benz? no. but I have a 2011 Nissan sentra that i got for no down payment with the title tax and acquisition waved, and i pay 110 a month. Coming from an old pickup, between gas and repairs im saving a silly amount of money.i also dont have any headaches if i were to break down, or something failed, because it is all covered under warranty. theres definitely people that can use a lease to their benefit, like me.

but to answer the OPs question, its probably not worth sinking money into a car that isnt technically yours, youre really just renting it for an extended period of time. and if you decide to do anything to it, keep all the stock parts because you have to return the car the way you took it off the lot.

i agree with this completely. this is one of the few informed responses in this thread. leases are right for certain people and not others, i've looked into it a bunch for myself and for my mom too and it's just a matter of the person and their daily habits and needs.

i wouldn't put any money into it...doesn't make sense since you're not going to end up owning it. save money now and use it later when you can afford to buy.

If you ask me the only way getting a benz is justified is if you can pay cash, or make a huge down payment. I've had some experience with them and they are very finicky cars. If you can't afford to pay 5-600 bucks every other trip to the dealership then they aren't worth it. But most MB dealerships are pretty good with financing. A friend of mine got an SL500 and the only reason that he could afford it is because the financial person that he worked with drew up a kickass balloon financing deal for him. He pretty much makes a monthly payment, but after the payment period is up he owes a certain amount in cash.
