It's not so much a hipster trend as it is a rich people who would traditionally wear furs "trend". I work in a "boutique" clothing store in Breckenridge, and we sell 'em like hot cakes to 45-65yr. old women. The kind that have facelifts, personal trainers, and huge pieces of jewelry with overt Christian symbols.
