I think it's reassuring that we are not significant in the grand scheme of things, makes every mistake you make seem much more inconsequential. Every triumph you can hold in its own value, yet still know that you are a fucking speck and you will never, as a single being, affect the fate of the universe.

It opens up your mind to more exploration rather than just sitting around, fingering your urethra "Well, I am me and I'm special, just like mommy and daddy said."
