Advice on my color correcting

that was good. on the first shot, you could have done even a little more i think by dropping the blacks a little more. the colors and levels on the second shot were nice but the snow was really blue. when you saturate, make sure your colors stay accurate. the third shot was also good except you blew out the snow a little. make sure you keep the highs down to keep some detail in the snow

I thought the first shot was the best, blacks were a little dark.

The second and third shots the exposure was nice but the snow was too blue.

ive been trying to use histograms and vector scopes as much as possible. just a question when using a histogram, would you want it weighted more on dark aspects, light aspects, or evenly balanced? i guess it would depend on the shot but generally speaking....

Yeah, try putting a little yellow in your highlights for the rodeo and lowering the saturation a bit. The third shot could have a little more contrast (not a fantastic day to shoot but you may be able to compensate without turning all the blacks into blobs).

Color correcting is hard :/ haha. I would suggest to follow of Wills suggestions and maybe crush your blacks a little bit more.

second shot the snow is to blue and your blacks are to red.

histograms:
depends on what situation: example with snow, you have so much snow that it doesnt matter if you have tonnes of highlights just make sure your important parts have good exposure. dont lower your highlights too much because your snow is too blasted, let it go up if it means your going to sacrifice your skier or background.

vectorscope. Use the vectorscopes direction to decide what color you need to lean towards to make it white. the more in the center the better.
