I live on sandy and for those who live in tahoe you know its been dumping all week! i think its 100 inches in the last week. the sheriff just came by my house and said that we should evacuate due to high avalanche danger behind our house! Squaws claiming a 670 inch base at the top! im stoked! Im not leaving!
we have more snow than you but we have had this much for a long time so now its all hard and shitty. but it is strange to think when you are skiing along on a groomer that you are close to 25 feet off the ground. we have a mid mtn base of 7m thats 23feet
am I the only one here bothered by this. the cops come by and tell him he needs to leave due to risk of avalanches hitting his house, and he is staying?
dammit u know wuts worse than living far away from this snow?? living on the other side of the mountains, its a 3 hour drive from San Fransisco but i cant get there because the highway is closed to get there damn...stupid people who get cuaght in avalanches and cant drive
and the the base at the top of most mtns is gonna be around 26 feet by sunday. Most major resorts in the sierras will end up with a total snowfall of over 700inches as well. and the best part is that we have only had 1 or 2 warm sloppy big snow events. the rest have been feet upon feet of 15+:1 ratio powder. the word shouldnt be taken lightly, but this season in tahoe has been nothing short of EPIC.
I thought in el nino years you guys got the snow, and in la nina years we (pnw/bc) got the snow... but it would seam like tahoe is unstoppable. I need to figure out a way to afford living there for a winter.
Its been so epic, skiing squaw was by far the best time ive had in tahoe in a long time. Even when we went to southlake to hang out with some friends at heavenly they skiing there was epic. Its been snowing non stop for a long time now and its only getting better, even though some stuff isnt even fun anymore because of getting stuck in pow :(
Yeah at Mt. Rose today there was a cliff thats usually 45 or so feet and was down to about 10. Some of the snow was windswept in but it was still unreal. The the signs that tell where runs are were covered to like the second from the bottom run. This is the best spring of my life!!!!!!!
i will personally shoot every person on the west coast. or i could kill a family and move in their house and assume their season pass identity... goddamn east coast.
