Americans Are Better At Everything

I had late lunch a short while ago with my buddy from Colorado and his friend visiting from Utah for a fortnight. I instantly knew I wouldn't get along with him, but had to make due. My friend went to the bathroom and I was left with this other guy. I was checking the news in the meantime and read this headline:


"100 cars in pile-up, 5 seriously injured in Kuopio."

This is the biggest and gnarliest pile-up in Finnish history and miraculously no one even died, the last big one was maybe six years ago. I think it's pretty crazy and tell this guy from Utah what happened. His reaction, I swear, was this:

"Psssh! So what, we have way bigger pile-ups like that like...every other week, that's nothing."



REALLY. Is that something to brag about? What the fuck, man.

I think our definitions of better are a little mixed up from what that guy's talking about.  seems like the finish are better drivers..  but hey who am I to say that.

I constantly argue with this guy from work who is a hard core conservative.

His argument was "The US is the greatest country, and greatest place to live on earth and any disagreement was anti-American."

I though about it for a second, and I only needed two words to destroy his argument. "The South".

or maybe really good? I don't know. I just know I don't see people texting, putting on makeup, eating, AND finishing homework while driving in other countries.

Nah its not americans that are bad drivers. Utah has the fucking horrible drivers. It is true. They do pile them up almost once a week here.

Sure, but this guy...

He also had an opinion about the volume of condiments. He asked the waitress to bring him some Tabasco for his salad, and when she brought him a small 50ml one (you don't really see bigger ones around here often) he pretty much shouted at her "What's this? I asked for a BOTTLE of TABASCO, not this!"

My friend does agree that he's a stupid prick, but one of his childhood mates, so..

Here's a vid of some kids driving by shortly after (I'm guessing kids because they sound like idiots and every other word is "fuck") and by this time a lot of the cars had been towed away.

The funny thing about the video is the commentary. One of the girls says: "Put that fucking camera away! There could be bodies and shit! It's private, don't fucking film it!"

Then the guy says: "Okay...it's away now! It's away!"

i dont really see the big deal with that video. that shit has happened a couple times on I-80 near tahoe this winter.


moral of the story: stay in your fucking car when its snowy out and you get into an accident on a highway. people get killed trying to look at the damage to their car.

America has pretty shitty drivers. VT fucking sucks to drive in. It's like they know one speed: 35. On the highway, on every road, in their driveways, in parking lots. It makes me facepalm. Then they seem to think that they can pull out whenever the fuck they want, regardless of there being a car coming.

wtf are you talking about, have you ever taken a stats class? as long as the study is done properly its totally legit. i understand how the media bends data, but real the objective scientist reports relevant facts, driving style is culture based, its not racist to say that one culture produces drivers that are more reckless. ignorance is ok, but i don't give a shit about your unbacked opinions.
