that new salomon ski looks pretty sick, i dont know what really its point is yet tho. for those who wanna know about it there's an entire salomon freeskitv episode about it
Did not have really any powder but hell the ski is fun. Incredibly quick edge to edge and so easy to initiate a turn. The avid pow skier/big mountain ripper will have absolutely no use for it but for the average guy who wants to rip groomers and ski decently in the deep stuff will love this ski.
Spatulas - 1st revolutionary pow ski - reverse reverse
Pontoon - new unique shape w/ super wide tip and narrow tail - rocker incorporated
Line Prophet 130s - 1st super fat ski
Line EP Pros/ Hellbents - Similar release - 1st pow - jib skis
Armada JJ - 1st 5 dimensional shape that is rapidly become the standard
Future:
DPS Spoon - we will see haha
Liberty Mutant - " "
Pocket Rockets! boy am I a space case. First real twin "powder" ski?
Those now salomon blue surf board skis are stupid, I don't care what you say. That deep a side cut would put so much damn torque on those that they'd snap lickady split.
Also, which company incorporated the swallow tail first? I feel like its been around for a while. It might be salomon....
I demoed these for a while and they are easily the funnest groomer ski I have been on, they are okay in tree skiing and i definitely would not want to charge anything on them, but I'm almost tempted to pick up a pair just because of how fun they are to carve(and the shape and the graphics...)
Line Motherships were the first twin tip powder ski. Pretty important in the fact it was the first freestyle ski to be designed to be ridden out of the park.
But pure pow ski, Id say Spat, Pontoon, then probably EPs, which I think were the first twin with tail rocker
i skied these skis for a few days with 20cm fresh on whistler and they blew my mind best pow ski i have skied, the omni directional is so good i see it catching on
