I'm thinking maybe the puck was in the air and we are seeing is land and deflect away from the goal, you can't tell because it is a bird's eye view though.

no it hit his blocker. you can clearly see it deflect off the top part of it and turn it on his wrist.

Yep ,  only possible conclusion. Even if it was spinning like crazy there is'nt enough friction for it to change direction so drastically. Must have hit the ice cut absolutely perfect. Crazy !
