So are people with less ability frowned upon at windells? I really wanna go and I feel like I could learn alot but I'm nervous to sign up because I feel like I'm not as good as some of the kids there. Is there's like a certain session that less banger kids go to? I ride with snowboarders so it's hard tO progress, because I have noone to learn from or push me. I'm willing to eat shit to progress but I just need Some coaching. So pretty much I'm just wondering if you have to be already able to buck rodeos and 7's and do pretzels to go to windells
defiantly not, kids of all skill level fit right in at windells. I have seen a few kids up there who haven't skied more than a few weeks in there life, and they have a blast.
I deffintly got better. My rail game was so legit after. My jump game I just cleaned my spins up. You will get better on jumps if you got the balls to try inverts and the coaches will help you with this and what your doing wrong and stuff. They dont push you to do stuff you dont want they just encourage you. They got tramps to help with this and now bag jumps which will help alot with inverts. Now I have so much more confidence on jumps since going to windells. And I am gonna go back next summer. Such a sick place to be. Alot of money but well worth it
Some what true. Like when a bunch of people are seshing a rail/box and you want some help you just got to ask. Ask your coach how to so a trick and hell help you out with it and film it for video review later in the day. On jumps the coaches tend to ski them for a bit. If you ask for help they will give you advice, film you, and watch you try them. There is alot of people on the park at once so they cant be everywhere at once but if you speak up you will get the coaching needed
you will be fine man. u learn a lot. just go out there and be ballsy but dont go out of your trick range so u dont get hurt... but its mainly about having fun too. and trust me you will have fun. no ifs ands or buts
what do they do there. Is there tramps and a bagjump. Ive just been to windells and I want to go back but the amount of money it costs makes me save for it year round
Coaches do help you a lot if you ask and they are all just super cool people who are stoked to be working there. I went to session 1 and there was really no one with rail game there and jump wise nothing extremely impressive. So if you get intimidated by better skiiers go to session one there wasn't anyone too intimidating. Either way you will have fun and get better.
Not at all. Some of the kids go there to learn how to slide boxes and hit small jumps, and still have the time of their life. It is what you make of it.
i feel you will have a good time no matter what?
Sorry for thread Jack has anyone been to the Spring Sessions im thinking of going and would just want to know what to expect. Thanks
yea i wish they showed more of the kids that might be learning like there first swaps not some pro super duper fed-ing a down rail or doubling a big booter
if it was half kids half pros then it'd be a lot better and ud get more of a feel for the camp
if i had 2Gs laying around hell ya but thats like 4 months rent now cmon 4 months rent or like AROUND 400 dollars a day of skiing on an overslayed park full of little kids who suck and pros who just worry about filming a cool video seg for that summer and are fed up with a million little kids trying to talk to them
intermiedate. if you can ski well and have somewhat of a feel for park intermidiate is prolly good and the levels dont really matter too much, they just use them as a guide line
how much you improve depends on how much you put in. if you give it 110% then your gonna improve a lot, where as if you try nothing you won't improve at all.
This. Intermediate is defineately the broadest spectrum/most of the skiers at windells. Beginners are new to park, advanced are for kids who are throwing down i.e. switch flips and solid rail combo. and if you're neither of those, you are intermediate
Go to Momentum it's amazing; this will be my fifth summer there. Its great for progression as they have jumps of all sizes including many a step up to safely learn on. They have a plethora of rails and you receive a new coach each day so that you get each coaches strong suits. Whistler village is amazing as are the many afternoon activities which are all lead by pro's which serves as a nice touch. Accommodations are in a nice hotel with hot tub and pool as well as many loft rooms. All your meals are included so you have no concerns and there's also a grocery store 70 ft across form the hotel. You get all the liberty you want, as well.
