NS Kayakers: Help a n00b

I'm looking to pickup an inexpensive kayak this summer for farting around on the late and maybe a river or two (slow rivers, no whitewater). I am also looking to fish out of it in the summer and duckhunt in the fall so it needs to be a relatively side to side stable kayak. I would like to do day trips occasionally also but for the most part I wouldn't be travelling to far (nor portaging).

Any suggestions on decent brands that range about $500-700?

My brother kayaks a lot mainly for fishing. I wouldn't get too sucked in to "Fishing" labeled kayaks. Mainly cause you end up paying a ton extra for the fishing addons which you can install yourself and save you a hundred dollars or two.

You'll probably want something lighter if your hauling it to a lake to fish. Maybe an 8 footer. But definitely look at a recreational kayak and you can buy rod holders and shit after and install it yourself and save some $$$. You can even use the money you save by getting a higher end recreational kayak.

I have one, but due to it's high center of gravity I almost blew myself out of it a couple times last season when hunting
