PRE WAR INTELLIGENCE ASSESMENTS ON IRAQ


This is sure gonna be fun to watch... everyone is gonna point fingers at everyone else now... Its finaly out there, what the rest of the world has been saying for the last two years, we had absolutly no buisness invading Iraq.

Meanwhile more people get blown up in Iraq every day for no reason.

Lets say you have 10 000 people, about the number of drunken rowdy males at a Flames playoff game. Armed with nothing more than semi-auto 22\'s and flaming Alberta whiskey, this rag-tag group could fight a successful guerilla campaign against 150 000 US troops plus tens of thousands of coalition troops, costing $5 bil a MONTH and lasting at least 2 years. Pretty pathetic considering the US spends more on its military per year than every other country COMBINED.

I think the administration might have had some idea, when while preparing to give a press conference concerning Iraq before the fighting there had begun, Colin Powell threw his papers up in the air and said 'I'm not reading this. This is bullshit!' Read the thread entitled Mad at Bush. They knew.

They'd have to be complete mornons to make the statments they did pre-war... (and infact, they are complete morons, fancy that, it all makes sence) They knew they didn't have a single CIA agent on the ground, and they were relying on disenters of the saddam regime for information regarding wepons programs... seriously, think about it... some guy whos entire family was probably killed by saddam is probably interested in unseating the fucker at all costs... what a good way to do it, exagerate claims to the US, the most powerful military in the world, in hopes that they swoop in and fuck shit up.

I'd like to think the government would take information from a person like that with a grain of salt. There had to be pressure from the Bush admin to find dirt on Iraq, some kind, anykind. I don't buy it when they say there wasn't.

I'm mean.. if all this is so apparent now, why the fuck wasn't it apparent then? Nothing has changed.

they're armed with fully automatic ak47s, rocket proppelled grenades, mortars, browning . tuck mounted .50 cals, and antiaircraft missles. now you dont want us using a tomahawk missle to hit a couple of men firing at our troops from a basement (understandable, and tactically wise) but at the same time, its very difficult to fight back when these other guys cut through houses, and know the terrain and architecture so well we cant find them,

you wanna talk shit about our soilders, get out there and train, and fight and tell us where we're doing wrong, cause it'll be a cold day in hell when youre a forefront military expert,

as the soilders say 'Vietnam, if you werent there, shut your mouth', same goes for Iraq. bitch, your dogmatic attitude makes me sick

aggro-skate youre rediculous honeslty, I suppourt the soilders alot and cant believe what they are doing and the sacrafices they have made. There is only one thing I hate more then the Busd administration, and that is people who bash our troops. I despise and hate what we've done in Iraq...but will forever support our troops. YOU CAN SUPPORT OUR TROOPS AND NOT SUPPORT THE WAR.

...And meanwhile, while we argue and point fingers, the number of American casualties in Iraq just passed the 1,000 mark yesterday.

And independent counts (there is no official count) put the number of civilian casualties at over 10,000.

I don't know the solution, but I do know that we're not on the right track.

What I do know is that I can never trust Bush's judgement again (after all, HE was the one who weighed all the evidence and finally declared war, or so we're told) and I doubt whether I will ever be able to trust him again.

Actualy no I don't, and thats why I find it so hard to belive Bush took us to war on the words of disgrunlted exiled Iraqis, highly questionable sorces of information. (they were even questioned, or disproved at the time he made the case for war)

Doesn't it make sence to you? You can't tell me Bush DIDN'T know there weren't CIA agents on the ground in Iraq. He gets a CIA breifing every day, and you mean to tell me he never knew there wern't any opratives on the ground?

I'm going to shit my pants if you try and tell me bill clinton was the reason we didn't have any CIA agent in Iraq.

you see, when saddam was in power, the country wanst as divided, because there were generally saddam haters (inactive, just minded their own business) and the saddam loyalists ('aristocrats'). Most of the Saddam haters were also AMERICAN haters, because of what they have done to the reigion. NOW that saddam is gone, the country i divided HUGELY, because now the Sunis and shias are agianst eachother (wasnt a big problam before), there are the Saddam loyalists, the american haters, the bystandards, the kurds and other al-quida people all in a mix fucking everything up, before, it was just 2 groups trying to stay out of eachothers way, NOW is everyone hates everyone. How is that free? how is it free for me to get a call every week hearing that my neighbors cousin got shot trying to get a job, or how my buddies uncle got killed in an ambulance, or how my great uncle got shot when he heard something on his roof? Thats free? fuck freedom, lock me in a fucking cell.

the war has done many great things. It has taken a ruthless, evil, and just plain horrible man out of Iraq. Saddam killed people by putting them in plastic shedders. People were raped or killed regularly.

whether the country is divided or not, we took saddam our of power. you might not have heard, but a lot of people were really happy when Bush handed over control to the Iraqis. People were throwing candy in the streets and had all sorts of celebration. Nations take time to build, and I'm sure that the people of Iraq will resolve their differences and help each other to build a great nation.

Earlier, someone said that it is easy to blame Clinton, but it's also easy to blame Bush. I think everyone should just stop blaming each other and fix the problems facing our country.

I forgot to add in that the people of Iraq getting along and building a nation would happen eventally. It's going to take a lot of time, but I still think that they can resolve the problems.
