Since this man was better than you'll ever be before you were even BORN, it's easy to forget how much he's contributed to the sport. He made skiing what it is today more than any other skier even could at this point, because of how primitive it was at the time. I watched the Seth Morrison Chronicles again last night, and some of you punks might say it's an unnecessary movie, but you couldn't be more wrong. Shane McConkey's commentary is full of huge respect and praise and as we know his words carry much weight.
Drops and inverts off the hugest cliffs on like 70mm waist skis, THAT is pushing the sport my friends. Mad respect for Dean Cummings and others too, who as Seth said in his early days, "we're scaring the shit out of him" with the gnarliest AK lines. There are icons in our sport that emerge because of signature tricks, unique style, etc. but by this point, Morrison has done it all, and owes nothing more. I've read the odd "but he doesn't land stuff of cliffs" and thats just blatantly fucking wrong and as one guy says in the movie "we could just edit that shit out, and you could not see it..." but I rather would see someone trying shit that nobody else is doing, "stomping" it or not.
Hands down and with the fullest enthusiasm, SETH MORRISON YOU ARE MY FAVORITE SKIER, because the work you've put in and frankly, the huge fucking balls that you have. It seems all about park n shit these days, but nothing would be the same today without the things that Seth did. He is the truest, purest pro skier out there, no doubt. And his outerwear fits fucking properly.
