i finally agree with u, this looks gay, it doesnt even look like theres gonna be much more seating...just tourist bullshit, and if there working on this for the next couple years, that means: no money put into park, no new trails, no glades, just tourist shit
i honestly cannot see how it makes sense to spend so much money of stupid lodge improvements when the on-hill experience could use every single penny of that in the "sucking less" department
wait! what happened to the second story of the lodge?? or is the second story gonna be the main level now?? watch the vid, theres no second level to the lodge!
We are very excited about our Master Plan at the mountain. As you have witnessed over the past several years, we have dedicated our resources to making your on-snow experience the best in the region. Major improvements have included two new high-speed quad chairlifts and Magic Carpet, trail expansions, a new novice pod and lift (Morning Star), two terrain parks, increased snowmaking capabilities, and new state of the art grooming vehicles. These additions have received great reviews.
Now we want to enhance your experience off the mountain, too. We are embarking on a new long-term development plan for the base and guest services facilities which will be phased over the next several years. This will include new structures, renovations to existing buildings, and new programming for our guest services. We still have to finalize some details and hope to start this spring. Our plan is to focus on Phase 1a of the Main Lodge which will establish a new standard for us in the future.
Level One:
Expanded Seating Area
New Restrooms
New Day-Use Locker Space
Additional Season Lockers
A New and Expanded Bristol Ski & Sport
A Grab and Go Coffee Kiosk
Level Two:
A New Market Style Eatery
Expanded Seating Area
Restrooms
A New Restaurant and Lounge with more dining options
Direct to Snow Access (2nd level to Comet Express and Rocket Triple Chairlifts)
We have engaged one of the foremost ski resort architects in the country - BSA Architects. We chose this firm for their knowledge and experience and environmentally sound practicies. The overall appearance and aesthetics of our landscape will be greatly improved. They are a great team to work with! We are very excited to get started with this initial stage of construction. Later phases will address the needs in ticketing, rentals, additional food services, tuning, and improvements to the Sunset Lodge.
We will keep you apprised of our progress and timetable for the commencement of construction. We want to continue to make Bristol Mountain the very best snow sports destination in our region for generations to come!"
this is from the site.
to me it sounds like were notgetting the parks moved or any mountain improvements!
now all they care about is the god damn lodge and focousing all of their money on beginners, lodge rats, and not on the mountain/parks wich need far more attention and matter more
^Well lets see... every single "expansion" since the sunset lodge and big bubble building at the bottom of the hill has be on the hill. So doesn't it kind of make sense that their moving on to improving the lodges? The sooner you realize that the majority of money is in the race program and gapers buying lift tickets everyday, the easier it is to understand expansion plans.
ya, but bristol is maddd rich from the gapers and n00bs yet decide not to put any of that money into the park because they want a gay new lodge for the lodge sitters. they dont give a shit about skiing anymore it seems
why don't any of you guys understand that bristol is a business. they want to/need to make money. they are going to do this my building a new lodge and making it more tourist/holiday valley like. its not the end of the world.
bristol isn't going to put all there time and money in an area where way less than half of the skiers go. its kinda dumb that all of you are acting like bristol should invest all of their time and money into the park because unless bristol becomes 75% park skiers its never going to happen. from a business standpoint it would be a complete waste of resources.
someone had to say it... lets see theres about 50 kids that would actually realize that they made improvements to the park and enjoy them... while there is hundreds of others that come to the mountain as a family or whatever to get the full experience.. ie. ski for an hour, kids bitch, sit in the lodge for 3, get some food, then leave... why would they waste money on pleasing 50 kids when they could please close to 500 a day? rule of majority people.. get over it. move somewhere else... anyone can come stay with me in utah for a week :)
that is not in this current phase of construction, but they will do that will in a about 2 years.
what they mean is that the second level will be extended out tward the slope so it meets the ground at the top of the little hill before the lodge, where the ski racks are. the first floor will be under it.
werent you there when we looked at it??? on april 3rd it was over by the snowcat garage by the bunny hill, we saw it when we set up boxes and shit down there
