just so i can vent the trip from hell.
i went to whistler this march break and i was soo stoked. i had multiple close friends also going and was very excited to learn new tricks and make an edit. It was shaping up to be the best trip of my life haha.
we start by leaving to the airport at 12 pm, get there at 1 and find out our 2 oclock flight is delayed 3 hours due to mechanical maintenance. we wouldve gotten another plane but ours was larger than normal and there werent other ones like it so ya. 3 hours pass and and delay it another 2 hours (so its planned to leave at 7 pm). at 7:15 they say they are giong to bring in a new plane but its smaller so not everyone will be able to get on. the plane come 30 minutes later and we take off at about 8:15. we got lucky and got on the flight.
5 hours later we arrive and all of our luggage shows up...except for our ski bags. we were late too and RAN to the last shuttle leaving to whistler that nightr and got lucky and go on that. we arrive at 4:45 and just crash.
i did manage to get 4 pretty good days of skiing besides the lift lines. it was fun but tough to find fresh lines after like 2 hours of being open but the park was unrideable because of the snow.
on day 3 my dad got the flu and was out for 2 ski days ahah
on ski day 4: at 2 pm i got jousted by a tree that was sticking right up the hill so i couldnt see it until it hit me. i puked my 20 dollar lunch from whistler like 2 minutes after i got hit. it hit me in my upper-right abdominal. i skied down and out then i slept for a bit. a couple hours later i went pee and peed blood so i wnt to the hospital. they ran a bunch of testsand found out i either bruised or tore my kidney. at 10:45 they sent me down in an ambulance to the hospital in vancouver. i stayed there overnight but every few hours i got woken up for tests and whatnot. finally got out at like 12, i headed back up to whistler and missed out on the last 2 days of skiing.
when i think about it i got pretty lucky with the whole kidney thing. it was kind of a freak accident but if i wasnt turning when i hit it or if i didnt have my coat on im positive i couldve been impaled which is pretty scary.
the only sunny day was the day we left lol and every other day it was too windy so they didnt open up the top sections until after i couldnt ski because of my kidney.
without a doubt the worst trip ive been on, im sure ill laugh about it after. i know more things couldve gone wrong so in a way we were kind of lucky? lol
so what's your worst trip you've been on?
