Best Mountain in the U.S. for both powder and park?
Which mountain has it all in the U.S.? A mix between some good powder, woods, cliffs and then a good park? Just wondering because I'm planning a trip out west next year and hope to ski some pow but also some park.
Aspen is sick. For park you hit up snowmass or go to buttermilk and on pow days highlands and the mountain. If you dont wanna ride a free bus for 5 min you can just always stay at snowmass for everything!
Why would we hate? I love CO. Rad place to ski. Steamboat is some fun stuff. Very stoked to be heading to copper next fall with my team. I would have to say utah not because I live here but because its just fucking awesome. If the resorts don't provide a lot which I doubt will happen, Take some trips into the BC if you have proper knowledge/skill. It really opens this place up.
what an ignorant statement. you have obviously never skied here. i have never skied at tahoe so i'm not about to make a uneducated, stupid remark about a place i have never traveled to. you dun know shit.
Na man skiing fluffy ass champagne powder is the tits. The fucking tits man. Get a couple feet of light pow and you are about to have the greatest day eva!!!
this. stomping a landing and having powder up to your bellybutton but flying through it anyway is the best feeling ever. i've skied mammoth on an epic storm, and i live in utah, and i would take 15 inches of utah pow over 3 feet of mammoth pow without even thinking twice.
if i was obese id only like to ski easier lighter snow requiring less effort too. Afraid a heavier snow will be too much effort?
considering the condition of the eps you had, id say you dont do too much in the bc because skiing outside of hte park/off groomers for filming is out of your realm of understanding.
Again, why would you WANT to ski heavier snow? I've skied plenty of heavier snow in my life, its not always champaign pow in utah, especially in march/april. I don't get why you kids are so stoked on heavy snow, shit sucks.
Heavier pow can be fun to. It has a much more surfy feel to it. That said, Living on the east coast I don't get to ski as much blower as I would like, so I don't complain about fresh snow.
for a solid base. No shit, eheath, anyone's going to get more faceshots in champagne than cement, but how much fun is it getting snow in your mouth if your skis keep chattering on rocks?
meanwhile on the east coast, we get whatever the gods drop, and I'll be damned if we don't love it.
- Mammoth is up there for me...gotta hike to get to some of the good BC from what I hear though. One of the most beautiful places I've been to in terms of ski resorts.
- SQUAW/ALPINE MEADOWS/TAHOE TAHOE TAHOE
- I'd also say Whistler/Blackcomb, even though it's not technically USA it's right across the border. I can drive to it from my house in 4 hours. I don't think Colorado matches up with any of the resorts in terms of best snow and park...I don't know the resorts outside of summit county enough to judge though.
