Which mountain has it all in the U.S.? A mix between some good powder, woods, cliffs and then a good park? Just wondering because I'm planning a trip out west next year and hope to ski some pow but also some park.

go to Utah.
stay in Park City for that "on vacation" feel. ski at the canyons or PCMR.
if it snows make the hourish drive over to Alta/snowbird or Solitude/Brighton.

can't argue that. also snowbasin has a good mix of both, and not the crowds.

^^SNOWBASIN IS AMAZINGGGGG!!!!
Guarantee some UT kid is going to hate but Summit County/Copper/Vail. Only because you asked for park/pow and not steeps. Not always the MOST pow but if you want a mix it'd be a good bet.
Breck's season total is 395" so far this year.

Your home mountain. Nowhere else will you get to know the park and sidecountry like a resort you spend all season at.

SHUT THE F UP YOU ANNOYING UTAH KIDS ALWAYS CLAIMING YOUR TOTALS. I said NOT THE MOST POWDER. 395 isn't bad at all.
Sorry that was mean but I had to get it out. It's sooooo annoying. It's always a competition with you kids. I feel better now. Apologies.
Park City is at 330" for the season... just sayin.

I disagree. I've had one day this year at Vail that I would consider a "powder" day. Sure, Vail gets storms of 5-6", but I would hardly consider it a powder destination.

The best of everything all in one place would probably have to be Whistler/Blackcomb.

This and mammoth, but i never been there. If you want too ski more then one moutain go to salt lake city. So if its a pow day go to the cottonwood. If theres no new snow go to pcmr, cayon or snowbasin.

Summary (or just my opinion):
Best of everything - powder, terrain, and park - at one place: Whistler
Best of almost everything that requires a bit more effort to access: Mammoth
Best of everything but scattered at different resorts: SLC

The Canyons in Park City, Utah has huge big mountain and powder. Much better that PCMR and the park isn't quite as good as PCMR but it's still killer and I think it's the best overall.

Dry snow falls, accumulates, but quickly condenses into a fraction of the actual accumulation because it's density is so low.
I have seen pictures recently from Tahoe with snow up to the 2nd story of buildings.
Take from that what you will.

I would take sierra snow over utah/co snow any day. In Cali, storms will be a bit warmer during the start, sticking to rocks and making a good base over previous snow conditions. This is why such crazy shit always goes down at squaw. You are able to ski off rocks, and stomp landings. Out in utah/co, there can be feet of fresh, but it is so light that you are still skiing icy moguls with fluff on top.

for one single resort, mammoth or whistler. whistler's weather can be a bit fickle, but if your at the right place at the right time (sunny for park or open bowls then trees for stormy days) its the best skiing on this continent. mammoth gets epic storms that come in several day increments, but its really sunny most of the time. the powder there is super heavy though and could be difficult if its your first time in the west.
park city for park days but driving to the cottonwood canyon resorts on pow days is awesome too. salt lake is probably the best city for skiing.
All times are Eastern (-5)
