Imovie help

So i am kind of new to editing and want to make an edit of my trip to colorado but imovie will not let me import the clips which are saved on my computer. I went to import and it just wont let me select any of the clips. And i cant import fromt the camera because its my friends and he is 4 hours away. they are also in a .mts format which i have never seen and dont know if that is normal?

not positive, but you probably need to convert it
mpeg streamclip can do that for free

yes, try converting them.

i've use any video converter.. you could try that too. it's also free.

the conversion to mpeg4 didnt work? or it converted and it still doesnt work in imovie?

and now when i play them it is in slow motion and the sound is way off

i was dealing with the same issue on a class project, i ended up trying like 15 formats and finally .wmv worked. but idt that will work for you cause i was on a pc using premiere

Alrighty. You need to convert whatever video you want to import into .mov file. Once you do that go to File>import>movie and import your .mov file.

thank you that worked. but the only problem is that now i cant find a free converter that doesnt have watermarks on the video

water marks? interesting. i dont have that problem. if you havent tried any video converter you can try it. thats what i use. i dont notice any water marks ha

and i have the same issue as that.

i hate dealing with video editing software. such a pain in the ass. none of them work!

tried using that but it doest convert clips to .mov format which is all that will work in imovie
