Replying to Japan earthquake related to Liberalism/conservatism??

Hey guys I have this social source based question I have to write on in class tomorrow and I was thinking of using the recent earthquake in Japan as support. I am really not that knowledgable when it comes to the Japanese economy and I was wondering if anyone could help me get a start on how this event has affected Japan as a whole and how it is related to liberalism or conservatism.
