Landed my first backflip yesterday after about 18 tries /claim

Yes this is an unashamed claim post.

I do want to say one thing though....once I finally got it around I was doing them consistently and they were REALLY easy. It was just getting it around the first 18 times and landing on my head that was hard.

If you're wondering this is the summer setup at Mt Baw Baw in Victoria, Australia. About 2 hours drive east of Melbourne. Its about 80m of dryslope inrun into the jump you see below.

Now that I congratulated you in another post I would like to give you a pointer though...


Having your arms straight out to your sides like that isn't helping anything. In fact, it probably made it really hard to get your rotation around.

When you go up the lip of the jump keep your hand somewhat out in front of you. Once you take off throw those arms up and back and bring your knees up to your arms. It will make those flips a shit ton easier.

omg me to... i have problems commiting straight over the top.... i can rodeo just fine but no backflip. weird. i can even cork 7 on a tramp on a good day
