Why baseball is the best sport.

Yes, I am really doing this right now.
(For all of you that hate on baseball.)

First off, a high school baseball coach once said, "I can teach you how to play football in a week, but if you want to make the baseball team, you better have been playing since you were a kid."
(Extra information)


1. It is the hardest sport to play, (Hardest thing to do in sports: Hit a round ball with a round bat)
2. Only sport where the winning team can't run out the clock, (Pussy move anyway)
3. You have to be the best, and prove it, there are 162 games in a baseball season, 16 in the NFL, 82 in the NHL, and 82 in the NBA.
4. There is no time constraint, each inning has no set time, it can go for hours on end, 162 times a year.
5. You can fail 7 out of 10 times and be considered very good, 4 out of 10, gets you labeled "legend"
6. History is made EVERY season, undoubtedly a player will reach a milestone every season.

Last of all, and most importantly; those who say baseball is boring, you are only saying that for the mere fact that you...can't succeed at it.

The only way you could stay in the batters box is with your eyes closed. Pretty sure majority of the people in this thread would shit themselves if they saw an 86 mph curve ball heading straight for their head.

why does everyone use this as an example of how tough baseball is. That is called a hanger, and gets pissed on where im from. throw that shit to me all day and ill be hitting .600.

a better example would be when you have a kid who is pumping high 90's who just started playing the game 2 years ago and hasnt the slightest clue where the ball is going. Thats scary, when you have to step in against someone like that.

sure sure, maybe its boring to watch... im certainly not arguing that haha, but if you think about it as far as actually requiring a certain level of physical fitness and cardiovascular capacity...  stats don't lie

if you are to be considered an athlete, in my mind, you should be the one competeing. You cant be an athlete when you are just controlling something that makes you move. racecar drivers dont have to be fast, strong or freakishly coordinated. they just have to be light, have good reflexes, and have experience.

All major sports(football, baseball, soccer, basketball, tennis, cricket, rugby) require the athlete to directly compete against other athletes in a test of who is the better athlete. Nascar is a test of who is a better driver, AND who has the better car.


The game of baseball requires their athletes to have more coordination that any other sport. there is no denying that they are second to last in terms of cardiovascular conditioning of all the major sports(ahead of cricket).

What people dont realize is how athletic almost every player in baseball is. Sure their are some fat exceptions, but 99% of the players are world class athletes. 1% of race car drivers are world class athletes.

btw.. im not comparing baseball to nascar because i like nascar, i just think its funny how people shit on nascar saying anyone can do it, but think baseball is the toughest sport out there. PERSONALLY.. i think track is the best sport (mainly becuase i run in college and see elite athletes all the time) particularly a decathlete.

neon deion Sanders, and Bo jackson would, and did wreck shit in any sport they tried. Jackie robinson, lettered in 4 sports at UCLA.

Ask them what sport is the hardest, and they will tell you baseball. I still to this day, think that deion sanders is the best athlete the world has produced in the last 50 years(Bo being a close 2nd). the dude ran a 4.6 40...backwards. he played in the MLB, and NFL.

Dave Winfield, hall of fame baseball player, was drafted in the NBA, NFL, and MLB. Ended up playing baseball.

baseball is pussy shit compared to motocross. i can run around bases too, I guarentee that you wouldnt last 3 laps on a rough track. so before you start saying baseball is so hard and how u love playing with those little white balls and brown bats, i suggest that you experience a real man sport.

mx for sure has the gnarliest injuries on a regular basis of all sports. I had a bud in college who raced on a national level and had to quit because of the injuries. Some of the injuries he had were fucking intense...like 3 month hospital stay intense.

But, you dont have to run fast, jump high, or be rediculously coordinated to be succesful at mx. just have to be a good athlete, and have rich parents to get you started...along with a large amount of testicular fortitude.

you have to have way more endurance and skill to be good at mx compared to football or soccer. people will never understand how it really is because you actually have to be sort of fast for it to be physically demanding.

i agree with the physically demanding part. It really is a bitch to manhandle the bike for that period of time. BUT the skill involved in elite MX doesnt compare to the skill level of elite "popular sport" athletes.
