So today I was extremely bored at work and decided to try a little something with my old jib skis that were sitting in the back of the shop.

So I carved out some base with a box cutter and filled it with p tex to give myself a little extra power wisdom and courage. I was just wondering if any one had ever tried doing this on a more intricate level?

Why is that embarrassing? I rode them hard at the beginning of the year and was given a pair of volkl walls to ride the remainder of the season on.

base tattoo'ing!!! yes my friends and i started doing this to eachother's skis while we were working in the repair shop back home (probably 10 years ago now). we'd put all sorts of crazy designs in the skis, old english font, drawings, company logos, etc... it was awesome. they never held that long, especially the more intricate designs. we'd have to touch up the p-tex every couple of weeks because the fill would begin to crack and fall out. it was fun, though, because we working in a shop and had access to nice repair equipment. i'll try to find some photos of the shit we did.

I left a snowboard at my local ski shop for too long, one of my buddies P-texed in "_ucks _ock" after the "S C" die cut in the base.

Of course, of course... My boyfriend who works in a ski shop was sitting next to me and saw that. He started geeking so hard.

If you can do a really clean job with clear ptex, you could put photos in your base.  All kinds of possibilities there.

i almost bought some fujatives at a ski swap that had "FUCK OFF" ptexed into the base, but it was like 300 bucks with bindings and the skis were beat to shit, so i had to pass
