With what is happening in Japan, I was wondering if this would cause any avalanches in the ski areas of Japan? Anyone know of someone over there at this time ? Or has anyone have news of someone there ?

That video just makes me sick.  I feel so bad, also have a friend over there too.  A lot of the coast schools in northern California where closed.

the earthquake didn't strike that far north so most of the mountains are safe. I know the meatheads gang is there and they are all safe and sound.

wow that is so terrible. i feel so bad watching those people. there were cars on the road like all the way up to where the water was approaching. we keep all these people in our prayers.

Niseko is unaffected, I didn't even feel it. I think Hakuba (on Honshu) is fine as well. Surreal to see the news though, so much chaos and destruction down south, feel almost bad about going to ski and having fun whilst all that is going on.

supposedly the tsunami hit the north east and toyko only felt the quake and aftershocks, and its chaos over there with communication as well
